Once again, standing on holy ground.
I was unable to find out any information on the memorial other than the obituary from a couple years back. Owen X Kemp was 19 when he died of a heroin overdose. I assume the memorial was built by friends or family. It is a story too often repeated, but the message on the plaque is simply true.

The third MOC in my mixel-joint-based miniland plus series with heavy emphasis on color and emotion. It was supposed to be the last, but I think I may have 3 more in the works... This one only uses the following colors: Bright Light Yellow, Yellow, Bright Light Orange, Orange, Dark Orange, Brown, Dark Brown, and Black. Exceptions are Light and Dark Bley for the mixel joints. Completed in May 2023.

One of the class with Dave and Dave assignments last week was "love" when I saw this heart that had been left on the beach I immediately thought of that assignment. Then I decided using this image taken with my handy dandy DSCM1 would be taking the easy way out.
Later I also wondered maybe could this be part of a sign seeing as I was walking the beach with an "old friend". We'll see about the latter statement as time passes. :)
So this is true love on the beach.

A popular piece it has been cast many times both during his life and posthumously. Working with living artists I used to have a log of casts made, each bronze stamped with a number.
The rights to produce Rodin bronzes is owned and controlled by the French government through a contract they made with the artist during his life. I don’t know if they have a limit to three number of casts they will allow.
