Superior reproduction of point light sources, such as streetlights at night, is achieved by minimising sagittal coma flare. Point light sources appear as fine rounded points, even at the edges of the image.

You know those moments when you feel everything around you just slow down? Everything almost stops and you can see everything around you happening all at once. It's like you can see your surroundings changing in sequence and everything synchronizing and falling apart as it's coming together. And in that moment you feel the happiest you've ever been and see how beautiful life is, you couldn't be alive at a more perfect time.

While cruising around Saturn in early October 2004, Cassini captured a series of images that have been composed into this large global natural color view of Saturn and its rings.
This grand mosaic consists of 126 images acquired in a tile-like fashion, covering one end of Saturn's rings to the other and the entire planet in between. The images were taken over the course of two hours on Oct. 6, 2004, while Cassini was approximately 6.3 million km (3.9 million miles) from Saturn. Since the view seen by Cassini during this time changed very little, no re-projection or alteration of any of the images was necessary.
Three images (red, green and blue) were taken of each of 42 locations, or "footprints," across the planet. The full color footprints were put together to produce a mosaic that is 8,888 pixels across and 4,544 pixels tall.
The smallest features seen here are 38 km (24 miles) across. Many of Saturn's splendid features noted previously in single frames taken by Cassini are visible in this one detailed, all-encompassing view: subtle color variations across the rings, the thread-like F ring, ring shadows cast against the blue northern hemisphere, the planet's shadow making its way across the rings to the left, and blue-grey storms in Saturn's southern hemisphere to the right. Tiny Mimas and even smaller Janus are both faintly visible at the lower left.
The Sun-Saturn-Cassini, or phase, angle at the time was 72 degrees; hence, the partial illumination of Saturn in this portrait. Later in the mission, when the spacecraft's trajectory takes it far from Saturn and also into the direction of the Sun, Cassini will be able to look back and view Saturn and its rings in a more fully-illuminated geometry.

Today's prompt was True Colours. I listened to the song until about halfway through and switched it off. I decided there was nothing inspirational in there.
No, I had to change my thinking on this one. There is no such thing as a true colour. There is no true blue or red or yellow. Ultramarine blue tend to purple, as does Alizarin Crimson. Lemon Yellow tends towards green, and that's just the primaries. Once you get into secondary and tertiary colours it's just a big mess. So that was my starting point for today's sketch: My watercolour palette. Not one true colour in the box and as you will notice I ignore the teachers' warnings not to start mixing colours in the pots. I just go for it. All the colours in the box started out as tube colours, squeezed out into pots and they looked pretty for about a day, then as they dried, they darkened and that gets us to a whole new argument about True Colours. Maybe I'll be a bit "Happier" tomorrow!

True, I do wear a skirt and top, or even slacks, on occasion, and I like wearing them. But dresses have special significance. Perhaps that's a result of growing up in an era (the 1950s) when females wearing dresses was a regular occurrence. In my eyes that in itself made girls so very different, and I was fascinated.
That feeling has stayed with me into my adulthood, and I'm glad it has.

It is actually part of the amaryllis family of flowers... one of my
favorites in Fall.
