Today's prompt was True Colours. I listened to the song until about halfway through and switched it off. I decided there was nothing inspirational in there.
No, I had to change my thinking on this one. There is no such thing as a true colour. There is no true blue or red or yellow. Ultramarine blue tend to purple, as does Alizarin Crimson. Lemon Yellow tends towards green, and that's just the primaries. Once you get into secondary and tertiary colours it's just a big mess. So that was my starting point for today's sketch: My watercolour palette. Not one true colour in the box and as you will notice I ignore the teachers' warnings not to start mixing colours in the pots. I just go for it. All the colours in the box started out as tube colours, squeezed out into pots and they looked pretty for about a day, then as they dried, they darkened and that gets us to a whole new argument about True Colours. Maybe I'll be a bit "Happier" tomorrow!

On September 3, 1995 I played baseball with Charlie Sheen. No lie.
My college roommate said there were a few guys who’ve been playing pickup baseball on the north field of Oak Park High School on Sunday mornings. Not doing anything that Sunday between my junior & senior year of college at UCSB, I said, “sure, lets grab our mits and join in”. We got there and behind the backstop we saw a guy pitching, hitting, catching and then a few guys in the field just fielding balls. Eric says, “See the pitcher… that’s Charlie Sheen”. It was. Just him and his friends playing some ball.
Charlie dropped his mit and came to bat and pointed at Eric & I, “Either of you guys want to pitch?” Eric wasn’t much of a pitcher, but I had a good arm so I volunteered. By this point I realized that I’d never seen any of his movies; just knew his name. So after some warm-ups, I began to pitch to him.
“Come on, faster” he said. So I did. Never actually hit him, because he moved pretty quick. After 5min of constant throwing he said, “come on, give me a good one. It’s my birthday and I want a homer”. A few more pitches later he got one over the fence. Dropped his bat and said, “hey, I’m Charlie”. And oddly enough there was a guy in the dugout, not playing whose name was “Kato Kaelin”. Asked if I had any more water, which I didn’t and for some reason I remember him saying, “no biggie, I’ll just drive through Taco Bell”. Probably the most normal, humble guy (celeb or otherwise) that I had met.
The moral of this story is that people change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes towards drugs & hookers. I’m by no far perfect, but back then I was living a frivolous life of self-involved interests with not a care in the world. Now I have a stable job, kids and am 30 days from closing escrow on my first home. Today Charlie had his kids taken away after a couple weeks (ie years) of absolute insanity.
Change is inevitable. Make good choices.
Gandalf - Bilbo.
Biblo - Hmm.
Gandalf - Here, this is about your size.
Bilbo - I can’t take this.
Gandalf - The blade is of Elvish make which means it will glow blue when orcs or goblins are
nearby.
Bilbo - I have never used a sword in my life.
Gandalf - And I hope you never have to. But if you do, remember this: true courage is about knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one.
Another edition to my 10x10 Lord of the Rings and Hobbit building series. This moc is a recreation of the scene where Gandalf gives Bilbo the sword known as Sting.
This bug is about 4mm in length and taken in Singapore. The color is slightly darken as compared to this image, the shot was over expose to show the detail of the bug.
I saw a lot of bug today by the edges of the nature reserve. They were the huge Leather Bugs. I counted at least 3 of them. They are so still and motionless. Beside them is this robot looking bug that kept still for a while and started to tramp his way from leaf to leaf. He walks like an elephant, tramping his feet as he moved along. Then I found another one just like him. There were two of them.
Anyone can ID for me?
Thanks

Hi. One reason you won't find anything on the web is that they're not adults, and most insects are best recognized when they're mature. Those appear to be in the family Coreidae, a large group with thousands of different species worldwide, commonly known as "leaf-footed bugs". You can see where they get the name. They're not beetles, and they don't bite - they suck plant fluids.

RosaNegra's Bohemian Square hides a new work of art called "True Nature” created by international artist Daniel Popper.
Daniel Popper is a South African artist who has left his mark all over the world with his incredible pieces, one of the most well known is Come to the Light in Tulum, Transmission in Joshua Tree in California and Thrive in Florida, to mention a few.
The leaves on the tree will display their true colors and then blow away;
But, the tree remains steadfast, faithfully waiting for the dawn of a new day.

I'll drown my beliefs
To have your babies
I'll dress like your niece
And wash your swollen feet
Just don't leave
Don't leave
I'm not living
I'm just killing time
Your tiny hands
Your crazy kitten smile
Just don't leave
Don't leave
And true love waits
In haunted attics
And true love lives
On lollipops and crisps
Just don't leave
Don't leave
Just don't leave
Don't leave
Radiohead
You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realize
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small
But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow
My Mom is not a big fan of my art work because she can't hang it on her walls. : )
So I've decided to branch out a bit and do some flower/foliage/cats photography as well. I want to stay true to my own style - even if it is with different subjects.
I saw these beautiful rolled flowers with strong leaves and it reminded me a torches. So that is the theme I went with.
Let me know what you think!
Also - add any tags you think should apply.
Teleidoscope 35/52 Foreign. I picked this for the theme because this is soooooo foreign to what I normally do! I haven't done anything like this - ever.

This is my girlfriend. She is like a Mewtwo on level 100. There might be a lot of different pokémons on the tall grass, but mine it's better. That's it.
