I was photographing an engagement theme shoot with Harriett and Ashley and it started to rain while we were by the lake (see background). We quickly moved up the hill to shelter under the tree (see photo on my stream). Harriett then realised her sandals were still down down by the water so like a true gentleman Ashley grabbed the umbrella and ventured back out into the rain to retrieve them! This was a candid as he was running back towards us! ;)
"But I see your true colours
shining through
I see your true colours
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colours
true colours are beautiful
like a rainbow."

The true bugs were the most challenging to turn into collages. Some time ago I got the grasshoppers and katydids, but I waited on the rest of them. Here are planthoppers and treehoppers, as well as leafhoppers. It is possible there is some repetition here, especially since I haven't IDd the juveniles. There are so many species and many of them are quite similar, so I did the best I can.

So this photo took a total of.....2 hours and i -love- how it turned out! I've never modded a photo this much in my whole life. The only thing i straight took from the original photo is the tongue, i couldnt texture the tongue correctly. :(
Before/After:
Original TB poster:
I dont want to get in trouble for copyright or anything, so yeah this idea was originally True Bloods, i didnt steal anything from the picture other than the tongue, but otherwise i hand drew and hand shaded the mouth entirely. Its what took me most of the time. :)
I was amazed by the opening scene of "True Detective" and wanted to try something with in-game footage.
Here is the opening:
