Halloween started increasingly in Germany in the late 90s. The older people were not thrilled but the kids found it very exciting to dress up and to collect sweets in the evening. On October 31, the kids disguised as witches, ghosts, skeletons from house to house calling fot gifts with the saying "Trick or Treat". People put candles and pumpkins in front of the door and give sweets to the kids. I really like this spooky custom.

I have since learned that Ajax has recently gone out of action due to it`s boiler ticket expiring. I was unaware of this on the 28th of October, so I popped out again, this time to a different spot near Ashey, in the hope iut might make an appearance. Sadly, it wass 'Waggoner' again, although today, adorned with the silly pumpkin headboard, possible the second worst headboard in existence after the 'Cumbrian mountain express' one!

Went on a bike ride to the beach to test out my new tires. I wanted a snazzy shot and a couple of BMXers happened to be doing some tricks so I waited until one came along. (The tires are great!)
Again, one of those Garni gorge photos that will play tricks with your brains :)
Wikipedia
{The Garni Gorge is situated 23 km east of Yerevan, Armenia, just below the village with the same name. On a promontory above the gorge, the 1st century AD Garni temple may be seen. Along the sides of the gorge are cliff walls of well preserved basalt columns, carved out by the Goght River. This portion of the Garni Gorge is typically referred to as the "Symphony of the Stones". It is most easily reached via a road that leads left down the gorge just before reaching the temple of Garni. Another road leads to the gorge through the village, down a cobblestone road, and into the valley. Once in the valley, turning right will lead to Garni Gorge, an 11th-century medieval bridge, and the "Symphony of the Stones". Taking a left will lead along the river past a fish hatchery, up to the Khosrov State Reserve, and a little further Havuts Tar Monastery.}
Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
I have tried to re - capture this numerous times after our dining room was decorated and it's just not happening. Viktoria is 15 and she's only interested in posing for ONE shot :) Happy Halloween ~ xoxo Kristin

Learning how to paint with light. The trick here was to highlight the subject with light, and not get the light source or myself into the shot and not leave light trails. The reflection was my own take on it. Not satisfied with leaving well enough alone, I also stood behind the camera to add the little bit of colorful lights to the reflection . This is not a combination shot, it's a single long exposure.
Coming up soon! Well, in all the years we've lived down here on the river- almost 15- we have never had one single child come for Halloween. :( So we only buy a little bit of candy that we like! :)
