The Golden Triangle is in Chiang Rai Province, in the far north of Thailand. The English name comes from the meeting of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand here, but to the locals it's Sop Ruak, since this is where the Mekong meets the Ruak River.

My TRIANGLE point found on Dec 29 2010!

Found on a River.

The Bermuda Triangle is a very real place where dozen of ships, planes and people have disappeared with no good explanation. Since a magazine first coined the phrase "Bermuda Triangle" in 1964, the mystery has continued to attract attention. When you dig deeper into most cases, though, they're much less mysterious. Either they were never in the area to begin with, they were actually found, or there's a reasonable explanation for their disappearance.

When researching futurism, i noticed the use of geometric shapes everywhere mix with an array of colours. For my final product which will be an album cover. I am going to use the use of the geometric shapes, in particular the Triangle, mixed with colour.

A representative soil profile of the Triangle series. The Triangle series consists of deep, very poorly drained wide cracking soils with a high percentage of exchangeable sodium. They formed in mixed alluvium in basin rims and have slopes of less than 2 percent. The mean annual precipitation is about 11 inches and the mean annual temperature is 62 degrees F.

TAXONOMIC CLASS: Fine, smectitic, thermic Sodic Epiaquerts

Most years the entire profile is saturated from September through April by a water table and stagnant surface water. Cracks range from 2 to 8 cm wide at the surface and 1 to 2 cm at depths of 34 inches from May 1 to September 15. The depth from the surface to the unrelated lower C horizon ranges from 45 to 70 inches.

USE AND VEGETATION: These soils are ponded and used for waterfowl hunting with some areas used for limited grazing (during spring and summer) between hunting seasons. The vegetation is swampgrass, Baltic rush, alkali bullrush, sour clover, and other salt tolerant wetland grasses and forbs.

DISTRIBUTION AND EXTENT: These soils are distributed along the basin rim of the central part of the San Joaqin Valley in California. They are not extensive. These soils were formerly included with and surveyed as the Willows series in the Los Banos Area, series 1939 report. They are being differentiated by characteristics that show a reducing environment (Aquic Moisture Regime) and by being ponded for six months which is not characteristic of the Willows series.

PCA 161 Triangles

Jun 12-Jun 26, 2011 (2 weeks)

Assignment:

The goal of this assignment is to capture an image containing a triangle – either literal, abstract, or a composition composed of the three focal areas that allow the eye to travel around the image and hit on those areas. It doesn't necessarily have to be an equilateral triangle in the comp. A triangle can be used to position your main and secondary subjects in the frame as well as framing your main subject either subtly or in an obvious manner.

WIT: Just three flowers in a royal blue bottle to add some color to the composition. Lighting on the right side to get the blue glow from the bottle. Used pale yellow poster board as the base for a softer hue. Tried the comp on white poster board, but the contrast was too harsh. I also tried to get another triangle in the bottom left corner, but didn't quite succeed.
