this one is fun, i started out with a standard 1 set hexagon sheet, took out some of the middle, then folded in 3 vertices to make a triangle!
clamping 1/4" brass plate to the mill to be made into 6 triangles, the points of which will be the 18 points that support the mirror. (the brass plate is also from the scrap yard)
triangles have came up more and more in my life. its so hard to understand balance and a thing a triangle represents that to me.

the stack is clamped with the edges to be cut facing up
the resulting edge will be perfectly parallel to the reamed holes.
Although very close this PLOP pattern is not an equilateral triangle.
making accurate triangles on a (manual) mill is tricky since you do not have parallel sides to clamp. here I am using holes that can be accurately places to index where the edge of the triangle should be
