Triangle Lake is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is about 25 miles (40 km) west of Junction City on Oregon Route 36, on the southwest side of the lake of same name. Lake Creek, a tributary of the Siuslaw River, enters and exits the lake.[2] Triangle Lake is closely linked to the unincorporated community of Blachly, on the northeast side of the lake, and the two communities share the K-12 Triangle Lake School, the only school in Blachly School District.

The 293-acre (1.19 km2) lake has had various names over the years, including Loon Lake, Lake of the Woods, and Echo Lake, but the name Triangle Lake (after the lake's shape) became the official name in the early 1900s. Before Fern Ridge Reservoir was completed in 1941, the lake was the most popular local spot for water sports.

Amenities at Triangle Lake County Park include two picnic tables, a boat dock, and toilets. Activities at the lake include boating, swimming, and fishing.

Fish species in the lake, which reaches a depth of 90 feet (27 m), include largemouth bass, bluegill, yellow perch, brown bullhead, kokanee, and cutthroat trout. The kokanee, landlocked sockeye salmon, thrive in the deep water, while good bass habitat is found along the south and east shores.

I had to test out my quilted pillow-making skills with one for myself first! This one matches my triangles quilt.

did anyone say triangles and half-circles?

to get the empty triangle ungroup the full one once.

Pattern: Silk Kerchief by Kate Gagnon

Needles: 4,5 mm Denise interchangeable circulars

Yarns: the purple is ShibuiKnits Sock in color 229, the red is Gjestal Maija in color 209.

Mods: After a few rows I did all the red rows in stockinette stitch. The purple rows form nice 'bumps' now.

I loved this pattern so much that I made another version, this time in red and purple. More color is what we need! And ho, this thing is bright! I love it :-)

Shall I add a fringe? I think so. In purple and with some red beads, that would be nice...

I had no good reason to take this photo, I was just messing around at work one day and cut of the corner of a cardboard box then, while I was carrying it around something compelled me to put it here next to the light of a window and take a photo of it and for whatever reason I ended up liking it a lot and figured, why not post it online? Yes, it was a slow day.

Why just tessellating squares or hexagons? An equilateral triangle is a nice variety :-)

"The Height of Innovation Begins With Aviation"

8th Place Month Long Men's Division

On December 17, 1903, man first took flight with the Wright Brothers' flyer in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Since then, aviation has been a staple of the STEM fields as engineers around the world continuously improved upon the idea of an airplane. An icon of the early era of flight, the biplane reminds us of the wonders of flight and how far we have come.

A very odd looking Triangle shaped house. In Alpine areas houses are built with sloped roofs so that the snow does not build up, however no snow ever falls on Great Barrier Island

From web1.seattle.gov/DPD/historicalsite/QueryResult.aspx?ID=1... : "This building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Please see the individual National Register Nomination for additional information. The Triangle Hotel, also known as the Flatiron Building, was designed by architect C. A. Breitung for real estate figure and financier, Victor Hugo Smith. It is architecturally distinctive because of its rich detailing and its shape, dictated by its location at the intersection between First Avenue South and the railroad tracks which led to Seattle’s wharves. The site had previously been occupied by the Stetson and Post Sawmill and Planing Mill Company. Construction was begun in 1909 and completed in1910. The hotel was built in the northern portion of First Avenue South, south of King Street. In the early 1900s, this part of First Avenue South was still a planked street and the adjacent tidelands were being filled. The area was developed to allow more direct access from railroad cars to the wharves along the waterfront, facilitating both transportation and industrial growth. This development was typical of the explosive growth of the original commercial center of Seattle (more or less represented by the original Pioneer Square-Skid Road National Historic District created in 1970) from the period 1900 to 1910. Victor Hugo Smith, heavily involved in real estate development, acquired the site around 1908 or 1909. In 1909, Pacific Builder and Engineer announced Victor Hugo Smith’s intention to erect a building on the site for $ 15,000. The building was completed by December of 1910 for $22,000. Victor Hugo Smith (1854 or 1860 -1927) was a successful Seattle financier and real estate investor. President of the Peninsular Land and Building Company when the Triangle Hotel was built, he played an important role in Seattle’s real estate boom from 1889 to the height of the tidelands development in 1907."
