Triangle Center (77,313 square feet)
1933 Victory Boulevard, Portsmouth, VA
This shopping center was built in 1957.
Taken at the October LSMG meetup as part of the training day.
David asked about a specific type of lighting and I said I'd have a go. I think this has turned out a bit harsher than expected but it's OK. I'll post the editing instructions on my blog when I have the energy to write them...
Plain white background. Three studio light - left and right strip boxes angled just towards the camera and in line with the model's shoulders. Top light in 80cm softbox on boom arm pointing straight down about two stops below the side lights.
Oh and I should also say a big thank you to Scott for help with getting the lighting sorted, standing behind me and spotting when the model was not standing straight and so on and so forth.
Triangle / Trikonasana-- the body creates a series of triangle shapes--stretches the upper and lower body; lengthens the hamstrings and sides of the torso; strengthens the legs, opens the hips as well as the shoulders, increases focus; gaze "Drishti" is upwards. Practice this posture on both sides of the body. The practice of this pose strengthens, grounds, and increases focus & stamina. Hold pose for 6-12 breaths on each side; repeat.
Morning yoga is energizing as well as calming. It will set the tone for the rest of your day. It was a great week of fun, relaxation, running, yoga, reading, family and friends, but I have missed you. Looking forward to many yoga practices together this week. I was looking for some possibilities to make triangles - there are soooo many more wonderful quilts.....

This is a piece I donated to the Heart Art auction, hosted by AIGA Colorado, to benefit Project Angel Heart. Made with watercolor paint and Letraset rub-on letters. This was inspired by one of the lines in the movie Beautiful Losers.
Draw one shape - repeat - add color. The Documented Life Project week 7. If you have sharp eyes, you'll notice a couple of polygons hiding in with the triangles...

A few shots from the Scottish National BJJ Open. Probably the worst sports venue I've been to with regards to lighting and the yellow and green mats, takes quite a bit of editing to remove that jaundiced Simpson look.
I added back some of Jane's original piecing lines. I left the bottom diamond, not willing to be that challenged. I used three of the charms from my Nancy Kirk pack to do this triangle.

I'm just getting reacquainted with my little Canon rangefinder, it's such a cool little camera! Rollei Retro 400s shot with Canon 28mm f/2.8 lens with yellow Y2 filter on Canon IVsb2. Developed in Cinestill Df96 Monobath.
I've started working on a triangle card to use up all my scraps - see Dawn's card for my inspiration at www.flickr.com/photos/turleyfamily/3440495663/in/pool-crafty. When I have some colors and little bits of paper left, I'm going to complete this card - the background is not white, but a beautiful pale lavender. I just wanted to give you a peak.
I like this crop allot more. The big orange X's in the other one are a little too much. Made from a triangle portion of this butterfly.
Triangles are my favourite shape
Three points where two lines meet
Toe to toe, back to back, let's go my love; it's very late
'Til morning comes, let's tessellate
