First Trial for the 2022 year was the Twilight Trial run by Pioneer Motorcycle Club on the Port Hills above Christchurch. Run mid-week after work 18 senior and 5 mini riders entered the event. Great to see some new riders amongst those present. An overcast start did turn to reasonable rain for most on the last lap, or last two laps if you were at the back like me. Really good sections, thanks to Derek. Most photos are on section 1, and apologies as didn't quite get all riders. Looking forward to another great year riding trials. Enjoy the photos, and hopefully see you all on a bike this year.

Another great day of Classic Trials in Canterbury, NZ, as over 40 riders tackled 4 rounds of 10 sections at Kerry's Mt Thomas property. The sections had tight turns, roots, and slippery banks that helped push my score up. The top grade also faced some challenges, but some great rides were witnessed with some riders managing low scores for the day. It was good to see some new/returning riders and more riding the harder line. Thanks to Peter who managed the BBQ, and Kerry for the use of his property. Special mention to Alistair who drove to North Canterbury from Dunedin to take part, having a good ride now on a Fantic. Enjoy the photos.

Despite weather warnings and gloomy forecasts we had a spectacular warm winters day at Waipara in North Canterbury for our August Classic Trial, with the rain not arriving until we were home and had the bikes cleaned. Thanks to Trevor and Wayne for setting the sections which were enjoyed by 35 riders. Thanks also to Peter for sausages from the BBQ, and

Lynette for the camera work while I rode. Enjoy the photos.

The first of two classic trials in May was held at a great venue about an hour north of Christchurch. The venue offers superb views across the sea back to Banks Peninsula. The terrain is hilly with grass banks and limestone. This is the third classic trial at this site but last time we were here it was extremely windy to the point most didn't finish the trial. I suspect this is a site that always has some wind, but yesterday the sections were well placed and the day ended up quite warm. Quite a number managed a clean round with Kahu and Kendall staying clean all day. Thanks to Trevor, Wayne and Bo who set the sections for the 30 riders. Welcome to another Trevor riding his first trial with us on a KT, and thanks to Peter who always runs the BBQ and kept us in sausages after the event.

The annual Cust Classic Trial was held last weekend in North Canterbury close to Christchurch and Rangiora. Great sections and great weather, plus the prospect of winning some trophies, saw 43 riders entered on machines from Pre 65, the twin shock era, and air cooled monoshock bikes. Thanks to the many people involved including section setters, BBQ cook, organisers of the trophies and tee shirts, and collating the scores on the day. Great rides by the top riders in each grade that got through the days 32 sections for only a few points. Thanks everyone for a great day out.

AminoGenesis Free Trial while I have yet to know for certain how well this will work long-term, I can immediately tell a difference in how my skin feels to the touch. I love the feel and smell of this product, which isn't at all like a medicine, but more like a luxury spa treatment.

The first post lockdown trial in Canterbury attracted 48 riders to Cust in the South Island of New Zealand. The event is normally held in April but due to the lockdown was delayed until June. This meant a frosty start and the ground was damp, but a set of excellent sections were enjoyed by all.

This is the second year our July Classic Trial has been at Broomfield in North Canterbury. The sunny day and blue sky came with a frost that left some sections frozen all day, while others were bathed in sunshine. Another great day on sections that took points off everyone, though a number of classes had close results. Good to have a couple of new riders join us. Thanks to Brent, Shirley, and Trevor for the great sections, and thanks also to the farmer for access. Enjoy the photos.

Pioneer Motorcycle Club kicked off the 2021 trials year in Canterbury, New Zealand, with a mid week trial run after work and the trials park on the north bank of the Waimakariri River. A hot evening and technical sections gave all riders and bikes a good workout. Thanks to everyone who rode or dropped in for a look. Keep an eye on the club website for details of the next Twilight Trial and also the start of the Summer Series.

The first Classic Trial in Canterbury for the 2022 year was a non points scoring event so many chose to get some practice on their modern bikes and try some of the harder lines. An overcast start turned to showers as we held the riders briefing then cleared for the first round, rained for the second, then stayed fine but still overcast until we finished. The excellent sections included some tight turns with short approaches onto trees and banks for the upper grades. Good to see Bodie out on the newly purchased Oset, and Kendall and Hamish providing some entertainment taking the sidechair through the sections.

I'm going to be trying contact lenses. I'm not as concerned at sticking my fingers in my eye as I expected, but it was still a struggle to get the lenses to leave my finger and stay in my eye.

The first classic trial for Canterbury in the South Island of New Zealand, was held just north of Christchurch at Kainga.

Straight forward sections with the tighness of section 4 being the points taker. Thanks to Trevor, Simon, and Kahu for putting the sections in, it must have been hard work in 31 degrees temperature the day before. Thanks also to Peter for the BBQ. Next local Classic Trial is on 18th February.
