Last weekend the motorcycle section of the Vintage Car Club of NZ ran a reliability trial and invited the Canterbury Classic Trials group to put on a demonstration and also take part in their event. The trials area also attracted members from the Vintage Club on suitable machines who tried the obstacles. These were largely man-made and included pallets (Thanks Palletmakers in ChCh), fence posts, tyres, a bank, tree stump, and logs. Due to the range of machines lined up for the reliability trial these sections were easier and included tight turns, tree roots, and banks. As well as trials bikes other contenders included trail bikes, 1970’s Vespa and Honda scooters, 1960's Royal Enfield and BMW motorcycles , 1937 Ariel, 1927 AJS, 1924 Triumph, as well as a Velosolex. A laid back and fun day mixing two groups both interested in classic motorcycles. Enjoy the photos.

Pioneer Motorcycle Club kicked off the 2021 trials year in Canterbury, New Zealand, with a mid week trial run after work and the trials park on the north bank of the Waimakariri River. A hot evening and technical sections gave all riders and bikes a good workout. Thanks to everyone who rode or dropped in for a look. Keep an eye on the club website for details of the next Twilight Trial and also the start of the Summer Series.
Inquisional trial device, wooden chair used to squeeze out the needed evidence from persons under investigation, most of whom was just simple people. This chair preserved in it's original state except for metal parts replaced by modern replicas. The picture exact above the chair, if you zoom the picture in, may give you an idea of routine days of this "throne". In German towns of Nuremberg and Fegensberg such chair was used by police until 1846 in some cases. Manequinn of the executioneer in the backround.
This is a part of the display in the basement of Uzhhorod castle (Ungvár), which basement was used by inquisition for its activities in 14th to 16th centuries. Obviously, for centuries passed all the blood was washed away and the floor, once ground, is now covered with modern ceramic tiles.
