The magic of nature, woven together with trees, reflections, and fog.

Found outside the Shorenin Temple in Kyoto, Japan.

The bronze sculpture by Italian sculptor Andrea Roggi symbolizing hope, peace, and the boding between nature and humanity.

It was on display in Paris, France

Taken at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Beautiful carving all around.

Thank you all!!!------[Explored]

My Head said Triptych and my Heart made a Quadtych. My Reason as is often the case was of little use as Emotion had designs on a different notion. I followed Heart the chest wedge of appreciation and it was happy especially so as Head was proved wrong yet again. Dumb Brain trying to think bright solution after brilliant solution. Three became Four and they opened out ready to reflect and hopefully to soar with one extra wing into any and all skies and rise in the mind’s of any casual passers by. Unfold to to reveal what’s told nothing either new, or old, nothing charged nothing sold. Just a picture reflected and reflected on itself.

One Lily is joy and several are a pleasure. In the wondrous white flowering there was an unfocused centre ready to be composed into a Heart. The Heart was all ready fading, the bright petals were gently time spent mouldering back to soil from where they had sprouted with their moment of splendid presentation now fading into degradation. One picture repeated and repeated to release the central pulse from the Heart of Death and of Life to fulfil the flowering out of The Lily of Life not unlike the sephira of Tiphareth on The Tree of Life.

Tiferet (Hebrew: תִּפְאֶרֶת Tip̄ʾereṯ, in pausa: תִּפְאָרֶת Tip̄ʾāreṯ, lit. 'beauty, glory, adornment')[1] alternatively Tifaret, Tiphareth, Tifereth or Tiphereth, is the sixth sefira in the kabbalistic Tree of Life. It has the common association of "Spirituality", "Balance", "Integration", "Beauty", "Miracles", and "Compassion".[2]

Description

In the Bahir it states: "Sixth is the adorned, glorious, delightful throne of glory, the house of the world to come. Its place is engraved in wisdom as it says 'God said: Let there be light, and there was light.'" [3]

Tiferet is the force that integrates the sefira of Chesed ("Kindness") and Gevurah ("Strength", also called Din, "Judgement"). These two forces are, respectively, expansive (giving) and restrictive (receiving). Either of them without the other could not manifest the flow of Divine energy; they must be balanced in perfect proportion by balancing compassion with discipline. This balance can be seen in the role of Tiferet, wherein the conflicting forces are harmonized, and creation flowers forth. Tiferet also similarly balances Netzach and Hod. In that case, Hod can be seen as the intellect whereas Netzach is seen as emotion.

Tree of Life by Paul Morin

This is a peace tree. It symbolizes our interconnectedness and represents life itself. The branches suggest growth and renewal. For millennia it has been a primary motif in many cultures of the world.

I took a series of photos of this setting in late summer and posted one of the other images. When I was thinking about a New Year's greeting, I wanted to find one that had positive elements for the future. This was not an easy task, given the political climate of the last year.

This hand painted rock contains the symbols for both the Tree of Life and Love, signs of hope and growth. They represent what I wish for all of us. Together we can make it happen.

Best wishes to all of you in this coming year.

When I noticed this optical phenomen (you can read about this here) on the sky the first one in my life I attended lectures from astronomy, so after my observation I asked my professor about it . She said that it was a halo and said that she had never observed this in her life:) From this moment I've observed this phenomen many times (in the first month three ones) :) Maybe because I like looking at sun:)

I dedicated this photo for my flickr friend Malcolm thanking for his great photos (especially of trees - he is really a master of trees captures) and for his amazing comments (many of them bowled me over:) in my language (he isn't a Pole) :) Many many thx:)

What lovely carving! Adam and Eve newly created, innocent in the Hand of God.

This final set of four shots from the series at Greens Beach in northern Tasmania is easily the most Metaphysical work I have done. If you want to understand the mood I was in when I took them, you can read the description under my photograph, "Man with Beanie".

Since then I have consciously allowed my unconscious to shape the way I have edited the shots. Some you have already picked up on that. For me the meaning of these photographs is in their titles. But they are just clues for you to build on.

Meaning in any art comes from the interplay of our social context or surface reality (Habermas' life-world) and our subconscious mythic or deeper reality (Jung saw this as our dream-world). Which is the best path to truth? Which can we trust?

Alchemists sought through their "metaphysical science" not to turn base metals into gold quite literally, but searched for the "philosopher's stone" (no, not the Harry Potter version!). They wanted the elixir of life. They wanted a return to the "Tree of Life".

In the Jewish mystical tradition this is called The Kabbalah. In the ancient Greek traditions this was called Gnosis.

* "gnosis" means true knowledge that comes from the depths of our true inner self.

This artwork was inspired by Tiffany windows, which I just love. In person, they are almost beyond belief! I used an old photo of mine, of a tree in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, overlayed with a tree bark texture, and this texture:

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. . . The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. . . But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life." Revelation 21: 3, 23, 27

Its just a tree standing in the middle of a field. It looked unique and strong to me and I made it my subject.

Wouldn't it be neat if this were real, (like in Avatar) and they were all over our planet? What a tree-house this would make!!

I captured this picture in an art gallery in Healdsburg, Calif many years ago.

My final image from 2018. So glad to see 2019 and to be able to share this. Thanks to my friends Brian and Alice for taking me out to this unique place on the coast and putting me up for a week. Happy New Year everyone! Have a blessed 2019.

Castle Hill, Sydney

I love meeting new trees. I had never taken the chance to stop by and see this tree before though, so on my recent drive back down from the northern reaches of the Olympic Peninsula I made sure to make the stop at Kalaloch and see this being with my own eyes (and camera). It's a remarkable tree and I would love to visit it again at some point, especially in some different weather.

If you wanted to see

the love I have to offer,

what would you try?

If you happened to be

my long-time lover,

would you make me cry?

If you really loved me,

you would discover

that my soul can fly.

Another new addition to the Animal Kingdom is the Tree of Life performing nightly shows, with fantastic colours and projections to music at regular intervals. The centerpiece of the park just got even more impressive.

Ocean Springs, Mississippi

My focusing was off, but there was such a great energy in this that I could not help but post it. Happy cozy sunday :)

On a early March evening in the Skagit Valley, Spring welcomed me with Daffodils under the Tree of Spring's Golden Light! A chorus of Geese were flying all evening overhead, heading north. Although none flew into my shot, the music was welcome in the cool air with rays of warm light spread out over the fragrant fields of gold.

Tree Of Life

The tree is central to Celtic Religion. It is revered as a source of wisdom and hope, a link between the upper and lower worlds and a reminder of the eternal cycle of the seasons.

This was given to me from a dear friend and I will treasure it forever.

The center icon piece of Disney's Animal Kingdom Park in Orlando Florida. The Tree of Life is huge. It stands 145 feet tall, and at the base it is 50 feet wide. There are over 8,000 branches in various sizes, and over 102,000 man-made leaves. Each leaf is over a foot long. The design of the enormous structure is based on a bonsai tree.
