An example of Mexican folk art as presented at the Museo de Arte Popular in Cancun, Mexico. I visited this small musuem in 2005, but on my most recent trip to Cancun the musuem had moved. I think they are now located near X'Caret.

Bahrain Jan 2009. The Tree of Life is a 100+year old tree, probably a Mesquite, that is considered a natural wonder. This unique tree stands alone in the desert and the source of water for this tree remains a mystery because it stands in a place completely free of water. The tree is mentioned in the movie L.A. Story.

I'm Lisa Boucher from the Lakes region of New Hampshire, and have been making clay jewelry since 1986. This is a necklace made with several beads I crafted from a white low fire clay, then handpainted with underglazes. Several beads have a raised swirl design. I painted the likeness of the little mushroom figures with eyes, and dangled many of them from the necklace. I also used wire, glass beads and silver spacers, and handmade the toggle from clay. lisasclayhappenings.blogspot.com/
Standing at the heart of Disney's Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life features the images of hundreds of animals carved into the trunk of the man-made baobab tree. This photo is an example of a small part of the tree. The bird (possibly a golden eagle) in the center is the focal point, but you an also see a bottle-nosed dolphin, a camel, a spider, a seahorse and others that I can't identify. It's surprising that nobody has created a comprehensive photo directory of all of the animals.
