"When you go out into the woods and you look at the trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn't get enough light and so it turned that way. And you don't get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying, "You're too this, or I'm too this." That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are." - Ram Dass

Purchase the print.

Trees are wonderful subjects to photograph. Their unrefined organic makeup lends towards lots of added color and texture. The beautiful earth tones and texture of this old tree stump can still be admired even after the tree has been cut down.

The blindness is also likely a result of the denial that such a place can exist in this world, with the incessant blue skies and irrepressible sunshine.

To climb up the mountain Omberg, located in the southern part of Sweden one summer night , is a singular experience.

The mountain is the myth sung about, many legends tell of Queen Omberg, who would live here. The tale is talking about troll, and witches.

At the top of a plateau with a magnificent view on all sides, two lakes can be seen, a variety of church towers, and nowadays a number of wind power plants.

After the effort, to see the sun rise up this early, in May- June 3 am, is worthwhile.

Beech trees cover the western hills of Caesar Creek. Their grey bark stands out. The beech are among the last trees to lose their leaves.

My corner of the family Christmas tree. Beatrix Potter's Tom Kitten, Batman, and my favoritest ornament ever, the fairy with the poofy hair. She doesn't hang from the tree; she's got wire bendy limbs and just sites on a branch. She makes me happy.

She's falling apart, and I'm desperately looking to find a replacement for her.

Spring shot of an oak tree on my block seen in all its splendor.. can't wait til Fall when zillions of acorns will be falling and the local squirrels are going nuts(literally)...
