A 300yo tree in the rainforest just of the Gordon River on our rainforest adventure. I love the green moss & green life all around the trees...
This tree looked to be alone on the mountainside. When you looked up, it was not alone with the company of clouds and moon.
This red headed woodpecker was photographed perched in a tree at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Martin County, Florida. See this, and more, on my website at tom-claud.pixels.com.
How did I do this?
1.Added vignetting
2.Altered levels on both sky and ground separately using a feather 150 pixels.
3.Added some grain and altered the opacity until I got my preferred effect.
4. Used burn tool to increase treee shadow
Some very challenging conditions down at Derwentwater this morning with frequent showers to give photographers and camera gear a regular soaking. Was good to bump into Shaun Derby again this morning at the lake side. I even managed to bag a few shots without raindrops on my filters. All in all a good couple of hours :-)
Near Lake Mead, Nevada.

On the hills just above Sheffield, if I recall correctly. Pulled from the "is it worth putting on flickr?" folder.
Tree branches (with building in background) shot on a local university campus in San Antonio, Texas as the sun was rising during the early morning hours.
A 650 nm infrared image of a tree in. I've waited until the trees in the background were overshadowed by the clouds to achieve a decent separation for the main subject.
old trees know
how to be
how to sway in the breeze
how to shimmer in the sun
how to dance in the rain
how to watch the world go ‘round n ‘round
and be strong
and grow old gracefully
just to be
a tree

Trees IR 720nm
One last image from last weekend and my wander around a field near Plumpton trying out a few infrared images. Its a style of photography that is interesting, perhaps not everyone's cup of tea. It is always interesting to hear peoples thoughts on the images, so please feel free to comment.
