A rainy day today. But in this shot the sun came through the clouds from the left side and made the capture somehow mystical and unreal looking.
I kept going back and forth on whether this one worked for me, I think there's something in it that I like so interested to see what others think.
This was taken with the Fuji X-M1 and 27mm f2.8 which I'm using a lot, there's definite times when it shines over my Canon.
Spring is rapidly coming upon us and with that many of the communities in Southern California have streets lined with these beautiful jacaranda trees. They can be a mess but well worth the beauty of your drive.

I really wanted to shoot the Milky Way with the tree but had to be content with just a hint of our home galaxy barely peeking over the horizon before moving on to to another pre-arranged shoot on a private ranch in Ennis , Texas.
This tree has somehow survived having the centre of its trunk burnt out completely into an arch shape which is big enough to crawl through.
Hope to return in a few months to see it with foliage.
Single hand held exposure taken (hanging over a gate) and tonemapped with Photomatix software.
