I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

My first photo in Explore #274 (best so far) Thank you everybody for comments and faves!
Across U-Hub 16th Youth Leadership Training Camp, Day 2. Got up at 6am with some of the roommates in my cabin to see the sunrise. 100% worth it. And you thought teenagers weren't early risers!
When I was a kid and we moved into the home my parents currently live in, my sister, my father, and I planted trees. They wanted me to put my tree close to theirs but I chose to put my tree right in front of my parents' bedroom. No one though it was grow because it was blocked by the other trees to the right of it.
However, my tree grew up to be strong and tall. It's still standing there today! This picture was taken in 2008. I planted it 15 years ago.
Golden Mimosa Tree (Acacia baileyana) as seen on a walk in San Jose, California. This tree has a very strong fragrance that you can smell half a block away.
We had a few weeks of unhealthy weather but they offered the opportunity to take some mysterious shots
Een doodnormale boom, maar het silhouette effect maakt het tot een spookachtig tafereel.

An ordinary tree, but the silhouette effect makes it a ghostly scene.

Well - I haven't stopped taking pictures of this old man. It was a matter of timing tonight. The snow, the sunset, the fact that I could finally park on the shoulder now that it had been plowed.
Quiver trees (Aloe dichotoma) exhibit dichotomy, the branches form as a result of an equal division of a terminal bud into two equal branches.
Just a lone little tree in fog...

This was the view out our front door after Hurricane Ike and before the town stopped by to collect "brush".
Sometimes I imagine trees have their own perception of their surroundings. For them we humans move incredibly fast. Presumably, they do not notice us at all, because we disappear in our speed from their point of view.
