There was just not enough room to back off to get all of this tree in the shot. Which was a shame as it was quite imposing and dominating its neighbours as we walked past. This shot taken at 16mm was the widest I could go, but still, the structure and stature is still impressive.
My soul can find no staircase to Heaven unless it be through Earth's loveliness.

Late in the afternoon in Miller Canyon, with evening approaching, the light slanting and seeming to come from within the grass and trees rather than from outside them.
Camera: Bolsey B2 (1949-1956, with Wollensak Anastigmat 44mm f/3.2 lens).
Film: 35mm Kodak Ektar 100 ISO Color Negative Film, developed using The Film Photography Project's C-41 Home Processing Kit, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner.
One more from Tuesday morning, I loved the light pouring in from behind this set of trees so I crouched low to isolate them from the fields beyond.
This tree has seen many cold winters...
