Cusco, Peru - 2008
A man in costume dances in Cusco's Plaza de Armas during the Fiestas de Cusco celebrations, which take place each year during the week leading up to Inti Raymi. He is performing what is called the Sijlla or Wayra or Doctorcitos dance, which comically satirizes the colonial era lawyers through both its costumes and its actions.

J'ai opté pour une exposition relativement longue permettant de capturer à la fois les parties de la scène statiques et en mouvements.

El museo, fundado por el alemán Juan Bulsner Gibson y su esposa Linda de Gibson, en el año de 1992, abrió sus puertas al público un año después con la colaboración de la empresa privada.

El museo Stephen Hawking fue creado en 1993 y forma parte de la Asociación de Centros de Ciencia y TecnologÃa (ASTC) y la Asociación Americana de Museos(AAM) desde 1996.
También se unió al gremio de museos pequeños del ASTC desde en 1998.
La diferencia de este museo en relación con otros museos nacionales y centroamericanos es la interacción que se facilita a estudiantes y docentes. Debido a que cada año habrá alumnos y personas que requieran de un estÃmulo para su aprendizaje.
El nombre del museo es un homenaje a Stephen W. Hawking, un fÃsico inglés que desarrolló muchas teorÃas relevantes sobre la fÃsica y sus leyes.
Una enfermedad progresiva que debilitó su sistema nervioso no lo detuvo en su labor.
Hawking continuó su trabajo de investigaciones.
Su esfuerzo se centró en sostener la ciencia, el aprendizaje y la enseñanza hasta donde le sea posible.
La calidad del museo Stephen Hawking se asemeja al Exporatoriun, museo cientÃfico interactivo en San Francisco.
El museo muestra a El Salvador, el mundo y sus mecanismos a través de principios cientÃficos básicos.
Lamentablemente el museo cerró sus puertas en noviembre de 2010, perdiéndose asà un legado cientÃfico y cultural en la capital salvadoreña.
El museo, fundado por el alemán Juan Bulsner Gibson y su esposa Linda de Gibson, en el año de 1992, abrió sus puertas al público un año después con la colaboración de la empresa privada. “Al fundador se unieron otras personas salvadoreñas que nos han aportado con colaboraciones y donaciones.
El museo se ubicaba en calle La Reforma #179 Colonia San Benito San Salvador.

I’ve had a bit of a gap in posting photos. This is partially due to looking for work, again, but also because I’ve just begun doing some 35mm analog/film photography. I am brand new to it, and the process is more involved than digital. It takes a fair bit of time and intentioned focus to shoot the film (entirely in manual and with a very limited number of shots per roll), have the film developed, review and scan the negatives (a process I am not totally happy with quite yet), and, finally, process the negative scans to digital positives. It is nice to learn something new, though, and the slow down and forcing a more deliberate and focussed process is good. Here are two decent shots that came from two rolls of film, a black and white roll (Kodak Tri-X 400) and color roll (Kodak UltraMax 400). The black and white shot is taken at the Sutro Baths in the northwest corner of San Francisco. A young man is doing a handstand while being precariously perched on top of a large rock in the middle of a pool of water. The color photo was taken at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco in an area slightly off the beaten path, where actual working fishing boats are docked. I have a very similar shot taken and shared earlier this year.

This cool interactive map on Heritage-Key.com allows you to scroll to any area of the world and find out what ancient sites and/or artefacts you can see in that place, with a colour system to indicate how well-endowed a particular area is in the ancient relics department.
It's quite fascinating to see how antiquity is spread out across the world. Of course, there are the usual ancient suspects you'd expect to score highly - Rome, for instance, has a healthy relic-rate. Other areas are more surprising.

The Rhine Falls (Rheinfall in German) is the largest plain waterfall in Europe.
The falls are located on the High Rhine between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen, near the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich. They are 150 m (450 ft) wide and 23 m (75 ft) high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m³/s, while in the summer, the average water flow is 700 m³/s. The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 m³/s in 1965; and the lowest, 95 m³/s in 1921.
