The Bolivian Palace of Government, better known as Palacio Quemado (Burnt Palace), is the official residence of the President of Bolivia. It is located in downtown La Paz on Plaza Murillo, next to the La Paz Cathedral and across from the Bolivian legislature.
Its nickname originates from the fact that it was set aflame and burned almost to the ground during an uprising in 1875. It has since been rebuilt and revamped a number of times, but the name stuck.
Marina Bay/Singapore (The Marina Bay Sands complex has three hotel towers with 2,560 rooms, a 120,000 m² convention and exhibition center, a shopping center, a Museum of Art and Science, two Arenas theaters, six prestigious chef's restaurants, two floating pavilions and a casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The 20 hectares of the complex were designed by Moshe Safdie Architects and the engineering was carried out by Arup and Parsons Brinkerhoff (MEP). Safdie also designed an artistic route within the complex, incorporating seven installations by five artists such as Sol Lewitt, Antony Gormley and Zheng Chongbin, whose pieces include environmental effects of light, water and wind, integrating art with architecture.
The core of the complex consists of three independent towers of 55 floors for hotel, topped by a single platform resting on them as an open terrace -of 340 m long and more than a hectare of surface- and ending in one of the sides in the largest cantilevered public platform in the world, flying over the north tower about 67 m.
The raised platform is intended for an outdoor park, Sands Sky Park, which has the longest elevated pool in the world, with an invisible edge of 150 m and located 200 m above the ground, which has a capacity of 3,900 people. The pool is built with 181.6 tons of stainless steel and has a capacity of 1440 m³ of water. The Skypark also has rooftop restaurants, nightclubs, hundreds of trees and plants gardens and a public observatory with 360 degree views of the Singapore skyline...)

Although it’s a relatively recent addition to La Paz’s religious structures, the 1835 cathedral is impressive – mostly because it is built on a steep hillside. The main entrance is 12m higher than its base on Calle Potosí. The cathedral’s sheer immensity, with its high dome, hulking columns, thick stone walls and high ceilings, is overpowering, but the altar is relatively simple.
Inside, the main attraction is the profusion of stained-glass work; the windows behind the altar depict a gathering of Bolivian politicos being blessed from above by a flock of heavenly admirers.
Beside the cathedral is the Presidential Palace, and in Plaza Murillo, opposite, stands a bust of President Gualberto Villarroel. In 1946, he was tossed out of the palace by vigilantes and hanged from a lamppost in the square. Interestingly enough, Pedro Domingo Murillo, for whom the plaza was named, met a similar fate here in 1810.
Matsumoto Castle (Matsumotojo) is one of the most complete and beautiful among Japan's original castles. It is also a good example of a so called "hirajiro", a castle built on the plain rather than on a hill or mountain.
Matsumotojo's castle tower and smaller, second turret were built from 1592 to 1614 and were both well defended, as peace was not yet fully secured at the time. In 1635, when no more military threats existed, a third, barely defended turret for moon viewing was added to the castle.

A system of urban transit aerial cable cars called Mi Teleférico ('My Cable Car') was opened in 2014. Currently eight lines are in operation, and three more lines are in the planning stage. The initial three lines were built by the Austrian company Doppelmayr. The first two lines (Red and Yellow) connected La Paz with El Alto. All stations have both a Spanish name and an Aymara name.
Visited Moon Valley twice.
Second tour of this day (after the Mountain Chacaltaya).
We walked the first visit on the 45 minute trail. Two days later, another tour made a quick stop, then we followed the 15-minute track, even more so that it was about to start a rain. In case of rain, tourists have to leave the park.
This name was given by Neil Armstrong who was the first man that stepped on the moon in 1969.
Valle de la Luna (the Moon Valley) is situated about 10 kilometers from downtown La Paz, in the Pedro Domingo Murillo Province, La Paz Department, Bolivia. It consists of an area where erosion has worn away the majority of a mountain, composed primarily of clay rather than rock, leaving tall spires. It is similar to another zone of La Paz that is known as El Valle de las Animas (The Valley of the Souls).
Because the mineral content of the mountains varies greatly between individual mountains, the sides of the mountains are different colors, creating striking optical illusions.
A majority of them are a clear beige or light brown color, but some are almost red, with sections of dark violet.
Straßburg - Rabenbrücke
The city of Strasbourg, located in Alsace, has a long history. Strolling through the streets of the old town, you can easily imagine what it might have looked like in the Middle Ages. Popular historical sights include the Strasbourg Cathedral (the Cathédrale Notre-Dame), the Palais Rohan, where the Strasbourg bishops once resided, and also the Raven Bridge.
The history of the bridge of ravens
The Bridge of Raven is also called the Bridge of Shind or Pont du Corbeau. The bridge was the scene of many executions of captured criminals in the Middle Ages. The crimes that were punished by death on the Bridge of Raven are numerous. Murderers as well as adulteresses were often put in a sack and thrown from the bridge into the river, the Ill. There they drowned miserably. Child murderers and dishonest merchants were often locked in a cage, which was then also plunged into the river from the bridge. At that time, the waste water from the nearby slaughterhouse was discharged into the Ill, which made the whole thing even more unpleasant. So how did the Rabenbrücke get its name? Ravens were plentiful in Strasbourg. The birds were just waiting for the corpses to be pulled out of the river so they could feast on their remains.
The Ravens of Strasbourg
The pitch-black birds were sometimes interpreted as a bad omen in the Middle Ages, or it was believed that they could predict the future. In Strasbourg, ravens could be found in abundance and so not only the Raven Bridge owes its name to the black birds. Also the Rabenplatz, the place du corbeau, and the Rabenbrunnen were named after them.

The Japanese Macaque is the most northerly-living non-human primate, living in mountainous areas of Honshū, Japan. It survives winter temperatures below -15 °C (5° F), and is perhaps most famous for the amount of time it spends relaxing in naturally heated volcanic hot springs.
The Jigokudani Yaenkoen park opened in 1964 and since then many thousands of people from around the world have visited the park to observe the lifestyle of the Japanese Macaque
The park is located in the Yokoyu River valley, which flows down from Shiga Kogen. At an elevation of 850 meters, the area is called Jigokudani ("Hell's Valley") due to the steep cliffs and hot water steaming out from the earth's surface. It's also a fairly harsh environment in winter with snow on the ground for a third of the year, but it is also a paradise for the couple of hundred monkeys that live there. We're lucky too, because we can enter their world and watch them enjoying themselves. Watching the monkeys play, take a leisurely onsen - or even swim in the onsen - is a lot of fun. All the time the monkeys basically just ignore their human watchers and just get on with whatever it is they want to be doing.
If you are in the Nagano area, a visit to see the monkeys of Jigokudani is highly recommended.

The Mama Daviti Church, also known as the Saint David Church, is located at the foot of the Mtatsminda Hill in Tbilisi, Georgia. The church is named after St. David Garejeli, one of the Thirteen Assyrian Fathers who came to Georgia in the 6th century to spread Christianity. According to legend, St. David lived as a hermit on the Mtatsminda Hill and built a small chapel on the site where the church now stands. The Mama Daviti Church has undergone several renovations throughout the centuries. In addition to its religious significance, the church is also an important historical site as many famous Georgian figures are buried there. In fact, the Mtatsminda Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures is located around the church. This makes it a culturally and historically significant location in Georgia. The interior is a beautiful example of traditional Georgian church architecture, imbued with serene simplicity and deep spirituality. Although it appears simple from the outside, the interior is rich in religious symbolism and artwork. The walls of the church are decorated with frescoes and icons depicting biblical scenes and saints, such as St. David Garejeli, after whom the church is named. The altar is located in the sanctuary, behind an iconostasis—a decorated wall of icons that separates the church space from the altar. This iconostasis is often richly detailed with religious images and gold accents, emphasizing the sacredness of the space. Visitors can light candles by the icons as a symbol of their prayers. The soft lighting, combined with the natural light coming through the windows, creates a serene, almost mystical atmosphere. The interior exudes simplicity, yet at the same time a sense of sacredness and tranquility, making it a spiritual place for locals and visitors alike.
To get to Mama Daviti Church, near Mtatsminda Park, it's best to take the cable car. The cable car is a well-known way to reach the top of Mtatsminda Hill, where the park is located. The cable car station is on Chonkadze Street. Take the cable car up towards the park. There’s a stop halfway at Mama Daviti Church. You can get off here to visit the church, then continue to the park or walk the rest of the way. At the church, you can enjoy the view of Tbilisi and visit the pantheon. If you like walking, you can easily walk down to the city center in about 30 minutes.

For centuries, Skeppsbron was Stockholm's window on the world and the first glimpse of the city for those arriving by boat. Nowadays it is one of the city's busiest streets, linking up the northern and southern districts.
The imposing rows of buildings along the water date back to the 17C and 18C, a time when Skeppsbron was made up of a row of shops belonging to rich merchants, nicknamed the Skeppsbronn nobility.

Itsukushima (厳島, Itsukushima?) is an island in the Inland Sea of Japan. It is popularly known as Miyajima (宮島, Miyajima?), the Shrine Island. Itsukushima is part of the city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima Prefecture. The island was the town of Miyajima prior to the 2005 merger with Hatsukaichi.
Itsukushima is famous for the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to records, the shrine was established in the time of Empress Suiko. The warrior-courtier Taira no Kiyomori gave the shrine its present form. In 1555, Mori Motonari defeated Sue Harukata at the Battle of Miyajima. Toyotomi Hideyoshi built a large building, the Senjō-kaku, on a hill above the shrine.
