It was lovely light early yesterday evening, and these hellebores in my back garden took full advantage of it.

I didn't see this window the first time around because the house was so full of debris. I liked the textures and light.
The bright sunlight makes these tulips translucent. Seen south of Hillegom, May 1, 2016.

I found this while digging though a rotten log from the woodpile. I didn't even notice the translucent wing covers until looking at it in the camera. The only reason I saved it was because of the little :> face on it's back. From the thumbnail the entire beetle looks like a pelican's head.
One of the three large "raised" forms that came out of the kiln this morning had a large crack in it, on the base where it must have been hammered very thin. I do like the translucency however!
This is Stratford 6-50 porcelain from Tucker, fired around cone 7-8 in oxidation.
