Because we have a Prime Minister who specialises in performative god-bothering, he decided it would be a good wedge to be "inclusive" towards gay kids, but hang trans kids out to dry, as a sop to extreme religious organisations (and help to make a big deal of bathroom moral panicking).

The really lovely thing was that a number of leading Catholic schools (single sex and co-ed) came out to say there was no big deal, and they were happily managing MtF and FtM trans kids (even bathrooms, shock horror). And a Jewish school that said "meh, we've had gender-neutral bathrooms for years".

So, the government was humiliated (for now, anyway, though I'm sure they will not forget), and trans kids/people around the country felt a little more supported and accepted by a surprisingly wide cross-section of the population. Which is always a nice thing.

the wild thing is that i didn’t mean to make a band… this duo composed itself by coincidence of doll stuff i unboxed this weekend.

however their backstory (in my head) is inspired by a real duo i saw at synagogue on shavuot (a holiday where you stay up late and learn torah) where we had musical guests from atlanta, a rabbi and a choir leader who make original music about hoping and working towards a more just present and future.❤️‍

Everywhere you look in the UK, or TERF island, things seems just dark for LGBT and trans people in particular. When the next PM candidates make trans and gender critical talking points key issues; The Newspapers froth at the mouth with their latest clickbait, transphobic bile; Much needed trans clinic reforms for kids are treated as if they are “proof” that they were “transing” the kids; Drag Queens being called “Groomers” and even the awesome victory of the Lionesses is co-opted to anti lgbt hate….well….Winter has not only come…it has well arrived….even if it is 30 degrees outside.

So this week is certainly dark…but it is always darker before the dawn….and things will get better…or else we organise a mass Jail Break out of the UK! Perhaps to Australia ;)……

This is my newest LEGO creation, Transcendent Shout.

A figure shouts with swirls of color. emanating with power. The build has around 7,000 pieces and uses every color of quarter-circle tile that exists (except for metallic).

“Transcendent Shout” is a further exploration of the stacked LEGO mosaic technique I developed in “Rainbow Heart” from 2021, pushing the technique to approach not just color blocking or blending, but actually painting with color.

The technique uses quarter-circle tiles placed on top of a second grayscale mosaic underlayer to increase the resolution of a 1x1 stud. This better represents organic shapes and allows for more detail in a smaller mosaic than would be needed to achieve the same effect using only 1x1 studs.

The No Kings rally in Davis, CA.

4500+ people attended the rally and march.

The only violence that occurred was when Beth Bourne, a local anti-trans activist, body-slammed a volunteer peace-keeper.

Note the numerous American flags. Peaceful dissent is patriotic.

The beautiful human with the “No Kings, No Jesters, No Child Molesters” sign was part of the crowd that later used their signs to block Beth’s ugly and provocative signs from view.
