Excerpt from the plaque:

Inferno: Just before the Inferno, Dante’s La Divina Comedia opens with a powerful statement that resonates with the reader: ‘In the middle of the journey of our life I came to myself in a dark wood for the straight way was lost.” This sentence tells us that in the midst of everyone’s life-including Dante’s-the path, which until then seemed well drawn, seems to slip away before our eyes, leaving us in fundamental doubt and perpetual shadow. These verses also mark the beginning of a quest, that of Dante’s. In the name of humanity, the poet will go through the three stages which will allow him, and consequently humanity, to find his own way.

Dante’s journey with the poet Virgil begins with a visit to Inferno. The Inferno is not only a dreamlike space, but a place of symbols. Nine circles unfold there and must be crossed successively. In each circle, Dante meets men struck with eternal punishment and understands that the penalties are inflicted on the basis of guilt. He also notes that the gravity of certain crimes makes them absolutely unforgivable, creating an interior disunity within each of the culprits. In La Divina Comedia, Dante therefore offers his reader an inner pilgrimage that begins with a visit to Inferno, making them witness to what Evil is and what falling feels like.

Many prisoners of the Tudors entered the Tower of London through the Traitors' Gate. The gate was built by Edward I, to provide a water gate entrance to the Tower, part of St. Thomas's Tower, which was designed to provide additional accommodation for the royal family.

Traitor's Ford Lane on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border. I risked the weather to try and get some fast disappearing autumnal colour. Every day the forecast is for heavy rain and the leaves are being power-washed off the trees. It's been a while since I had a good soaking, but the rain was warm and short lived and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Tower of London. On the left you can see Traitors' Gate, an entrance for prisoners shipped in from the direction of Thames.

So, guys, almost everyone have seen this wonderful movie and you know this scene where we can see the bravest and fearless Stormtrooper. To be honest he is my favorite :D

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks to willgalb (www.flickr.com/photos/lego-will/) for "giving" idea about the ending of a stick, because initially I didn't know that exactly this idea has already appeared somewhere.

Secondly, I started to use my camera since New Year, so there may be some mistakes in my photos. This definitely will be ok, just wanted to make sure that you are aware of it.

Thanks all of you for your faves and followings, hope you like my works ;-) See you soon!

When we went to the beach with Jack Mary's jacket was not warm enough so I had to give her my windproof. I was quietly taking shots and minding my own business as she watched over Jack and then she came after me and my camera with a bucket of water! Good thing I heard Jacks warning:-)

There are literally hundreds of vibrant, splendid rivers

and valleys in the Highlands like this one, the valley of the River Averon or Alness.

Its source rises in the massif known as Ben Wyvis, 1,043 metres.

It largely flows eastwards below the impressive and now famous Ardross Castle, where the UK version of “The Traitors” is filmed.

It veers southwards and reaches the Cromarty Firth near Alness, hence, one of its two popular names.

As with so many Scottish rivers, in flood, it can move large boulders, that are scattered along its shores in times of low rainfall.

The valley is surrounded by hills, therefore the river is fed by numerous tributaries some cascading down mini-gorges.

Everywhere is resplendent with mature coniferous and deciduous trees.

The river meanders like a blue serpent through patches of meadow and fields of pasture, fodder and arable crops.

Easter Ross has Highland scenery to match the best of Perthshire and the Cairngorms.

Traitors' Gate is the entrance from the River Thames, through which many prisoners, during the Tudor period, were brought to the Tower of London.

The Tower of London was built during the reign of William the Conqueror, but the gate was built over 200 years later, during the reign of Edward Ist.

This area is considered (The citadel - Its Kale-of the castle of Ioannina),the Byzantine church of Archangel Michael built between 1205 and 1215. After it was built in 1430 next to the ruined church a wooden mosque was originally called Fethiye Mosque (Mosque of the conquest). The stone is 1611 and 1795, Ali Pasha gives its current form.

From the early days of its sovereignty, Ali Pasha made real obvious trends for autonomy. This was the cause in March 1820, the Sublime Porte in Istanbul put a price on a rebel and traitor and sent an army against him. The end came two years later, in January 1822.

The head of Ali Pasha, having been exposed for three days on the ramparts of the fort this Jannina, came to Istanbul, "legs" of the sultan.

The headless body of Ali was buried in the family tomb seraglios in Its Kale, near Fethiye Mosque. This tomb was surrounded as in 1944 with a nice tall balustrade which was removed during the German occupation to be replaced in recent years from new.

"The Traitors' Gate is an entrance through which many prisoners of the Tudors arrived at the Tower of London. The gate was built by Edward I (1239-1307), to provide a water gate entrance to the Tower, part of St. Thomas's Tower, which was designed to provide additional accommodation for the royal family.

In the pool behind Traitors' Gate was an engine that was used for raising water to a cistern on the roof of the White Tower. The engine worked originally by the force of the tide or by horsepower and eventually by steam. In 1724–6, it was adapted to drive machinery for boring gun barrels. It was removed in the 1860s.[citation needed]

The name Traitors' Gate has been used since before 1543, when that name is used on Anton van den Wyngaerde's panorama of London. Prisoners were brought by barge along the Thames, passing under London Bridge, where the heads of recently executed prisoners were displayed on pikes. Notable prisoners such as Sir Thomas More entered the Tower by Traitors' Gate."
