Sergeants across 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade participated in Junior Leader Development Training April 30, 2014 in the Community Activity Center on Camp Humphreys. The day-long seminar included a physical training session lead by their peers, mentorship from senior Non-Commissioned Officers and other activities designed to improve leadership ability and potential.
As a part of Italian Cooperation (DGCS) funded project, ActionAid Somaliland has begun ‘Training on Farming Techniques and Water Harvesting’ in 21 villages across Marodijex and Gabiley Regions. The overall objective of the training is to build the capacity of small farm holders to create platforms to discuss matters affecting their livelihoods. The training will focus on in-depth understanding of farming techniques with special emphasis on dry and irrigated farming, mono and mixed cropping, water harvesting and soil conservation skills, seed and seed selection, pests and pesticides, rain-water harvesting and cooperative networking and marketing skills.

The local volunteer firefighters had an opportunity to get some hands on training at the expense of an old building.
Here we have Communty Action Volunteers (CAVs) undertaking training in Mogadishu with CDRD trainer, Emanuele.
This pilot project from CDRD is administering training to give communities the capacity to oversee the completion of sub-projects themselves. This includes the use of projectors, iPods, video cameras and cameras for beneficiary-led training, and monitoring & evaluation.
This innovative project will foster beneficiary participation for development in inaccessible areas.
