I still don’t have my DSLR here with me – so I’m stuck with my PowerShot S90. That doesn’t really animate me to go out and shoot. So I decided to go through the shots I already have on my computer and figured I could try to reprocess some or even process others that I didn’t touch before.
This picture is the result of a three picture exposure bracket processed as HDR in Photomatix and then in Lighroom. The result wasn’t that good (some spots were really blown…) so I decided to blend in some stuff of the original shots. I hope you like the result showing Kassel Wilhelmshöhe train station at night in winter. On the left side you can see the headquarters of German mining company “K+S” being illuminated at night.

A lovely sunny day on the fields today near Thurcaston. Here a train heads for Rothley, part of today's war themed event.
The train derailment took out the crossing lights. I've often thought that I should stay back from a crossing. Just a caution.

This freight train is operated by our own paper transportation. However, vehicles "WAMU-Type80000" that are operating in this freight train is scheduled to retire in March 2012.

Fondant covered train cake for a little boy turning 1. This was definitely a challenge but fun to do and I'm happy with the end result. Cakes were 10", 8", 6", 8"...fed about 60.
After over 15 years of construction, extensions, issues, and taxpayer dollars, Long Island Rail Road's "East Side Access" project finally opened to customers on January 25th, 2023.
No expense was spared on advertisement or fanfare either, as the first train bound for the new Grand Central Madison enters Jamaica Station.
This 12 car train of M9s brought the first railbuffs and politicians into the new terminal, commencing a new era of communting in the State of New York.
After dropping loads and running around empties, IC 3108 is now in the lead departing the Prairie States Generating Station. This move normally happens at night so it was a pleasant surprise to catch this in the daytime on a Saturday! Unfortunately, CN only handles limestone into the facility as a coal mine sits on the property to fuel the plant. This is a 4.5 mile spur north off of the CN St. Louis Sub in rural southern Illinois. IC 3108 may be the last black GP40 but I haven't googled to find out.

This year's train under our Christmas tree. As soon as I saw Koen's great Gingerbread Train I wanted to make one too! I did the locomotive and caboose and Zoey (age 7) added other cars -- and the snow made from packing peanuts :)
