# Circular Train in Yangon

A ride on the Circular Train will give you a unique perspective on daily life in the city and the area around it. The station is a grand British colonial building that combines Burmese architectural style with functional Western elements. On the three-hour trip, you'll see the scenery change from city to rural, and pass by ponds, villages and scenes of farm life.

Tiny but powerful Hercules Train that brought tourists up from Glasgow Junction to Mammoth Cave. However the rails were popular targets of local kids, who would soap up the rails.

The world famous ‘Jacobite Express’ train is quite possibly the most beautiful and scenic train journey anywhere.

Operating under various names and with different operators, The Jacobite steam train has been running every summer since 1984 and is currently operated by West Coast Railways.

It is also known as the ‘Jacobean Train’ and the ‘Harry Potter Steam Train’.

It covers part of the West Highland line in Scotland and is a huge hit with tourists, effortlessly combining legendary Scottish folklore, luxury travel and beautiful scenery.

The Glenfinnan Viaduct (pictured above) is perhaps best known from its use in the Harry Potter movies, and the Hogwart’s Express is simply another name for the same route.

Love the way this one turned out. You have to be really careful when shooting film on the train, not because of how someone might react, but because of the bumbs!

Fortunately this line has decent lighting so I could shoot at 1/60 sec. Yaaaay.

I have been traveling since I was born since my parents were in the Air Force. Even as I got older riding with other friends during my travels and riding Amtrack trains around the country it drove me nuts that I could not stop when I wanted to stop to take photos of the many things I have seen in my travels. Finally I was given the chance to be free and take photos anywhere and at anytime I want. I pulled over every time I had seen a train with graffiti and I'm always amazed how this traveling art is sitting in the middle of the desert. When I use to ride the Amtrack train I would see box car trains covered with graffiti art sitting in the middle of a forest with snow hundreds of miles away from towns and cities. Graffiti trains are a true traveling art gallery.

Driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta is a perfect vehicle to travel for filmmakers and photographers. 40mpg you can't beat that. I drove from the west coast to the east coast and back and the car still drives as smooth as the the first day I got it.

Myself and my wife had spent a few days holiday in the north west, on the Saturday morning before returning home as the weather was terrible we visited Carnforth station heritage centre , to my surprise (very patient wife) Galatea was shunting stock in the yard and then departed with empty stock to Kings Lynn for a private charter , this was not advertised on the usual websites. On our journey home we passed Hellifield station and I caught a couple of shots there and then tracked the train down the Aire valley to Keighley.

This "found photo" is one of 1000's that I stumbled across at an estate sale. This is a great collection of travel photos from the 1950's and 1960's from across the globe
