The title is a nod to Anne Rice's The Witching Hour, which I'm currently reading for the first time.
Week 6: "Spun"
Decided to put my custom webbing to use again.
I make this stuff using a combination of jewelry wire and fishing line... it's braided, twisted and tied, then painted and bent to shape.
By the stage door, we see the owner of Bijou Planks! The Chameleon!!
Chameleon: Spike.
Spike: GYAAAH!!! Oh... sorry Mr. Chameleon. Just... you know...
Chameleon: I frightened you.
Spike: Well, you know, a little jumpy... can't be too careful...
Chameleon: We've been waiting, Spike. You're going to cause Jack Slater here to be late for his performance. Jack doesn't like that.
Jack Slater: Ah don't like it! Ah hahf to pafoam!!! It is my life! Ah'm playing Hahmlet!
Chameleon: That's enough Jack. You certainly put the ham in Hamlet. Spike did you bring our package?
Spike: Sh--sure, Mr. Chameleon. Here it-
Chameleon: Not out here, you imbecile!! I run a respectable business. Jack will escort you through the stage door. He will inspect the package. Whether or not you come back out of the stage door depends on his approval.
Spike: gulp!
April: So, what do you think of Paprihaven so far?
Parker: Loving it! I'm trying to find someone... it's all a bit difficult to get my bearings just because of what kind of place this is.
April: (laughs) It'll only get weirder, trust me! No one gets used to Paprihaven!
Parker: I'm getting good shots... or at least I think I am! To me, living crash dummies would be a once-in-a-lifetime shot, but here... maybe they're not news.
April: All part of the mosaic, Pete! Just keep shooting!
The Build-a-Figure concept to sell all figures within a given series is a neat idea. We haven't bought in to it though.
We just buy the Marvel Legends and DC Multiverse figures as we find them on sale and so our BAFs come about incidentally and much more slowly. We have lots of BAF parts! But only these completed.
Some are just excellent, like Pitt or Juggernaut. Some, like Ares, don't really rate a BAF treatment.
Some are a surprise win. Dr. Psycho was a grand total of two pieces and sports 4 POA. Not very impressive. But, it only took two figures to get him, we really like both the figs, got them both on clearance, and it's fun to have a Dr. Psycho figure.
We took this photo as we just completed Mantis.
The BAF system is fun for us in this way, as it adds that extra thrill when we see a toy on sale and it has a BAF part we've been looking for! 😊
God is kind to bless us in allowing such a silly hobby! 😊 😊
I was going to rebodie the repo Barbie but her skin tone was too off so I rebodied the Toybiz Rouge doll instead.
In the lobbies of the massive train station, the passengers take in the news of Paprihaven and find that it isn't good.

April: Oh! It's almost show time! They're queuing up!
Parker: Okay... let me get a few shots here...
Betty: "Quit yer hollerin Rocky, before I come out theah and gives ya a Rock Bottom!"
The Rock: "The Rock hears you, Betty, and The Rock will stop yelling."
Milan (giggling): "Oh, Rocky, you are SO cute!"
Kubla Khan: "Aye... I once had a damsel. Beauteous as the morning sun rising over a field of daffodils and sauerkraut! I decreed her a stately pleasure dame."
Betty: "Ah, knuckle up, Kuby! You'll finds ya anudda goil!"

Loosely based on Sideshow's Fantastic Four Diorama, one of my favourite statues... I still hope to own it one day, though I'm going to begin my Sideshow statues with the acquisition of Scarlet Witch Comiquette (see Dr Teng's wonderful review of it here). Eagerly awaiting September.
Anyway, featured here are 6-7" figures of the Fantastic Four. Mr Fantastic and Human Torch (custom haircut and paint) were released by Hasbro. Jessica Alba movie Sue Storm by Toybiz and finally, my latest purchase, Marvel Select Thing.
Must say, it was a disappointment. Despite its sculpt, size and weight, the figure is really a brick. The "base" that came with it was very forgettable as well... Not to mention his right leg broke off while I was posing it for this photoshoot. Sigh... I hope Abomination and Juggy don't turn out like him.
BTW, borrowed an image of the LSB Galactus bust by Sideshow for the back drop.

Parker: Yeah... well, it's not just photographing the Planks, it's getting shots to go with a story the paper is running about the war. And... well... I'm new and don't know much about the war.
April: All news right now is about the war. Which is kind of surreal since it's not actually a war yet. The warp is open and things are coming through but the Justice League is so prepared this time. But... there's that idea that if it does break loose...
Parker: I should learn about the first one.
April: Yes, you should but, in the meantime, shoot what you see.
Parker: (thinking) I need to learn about Paprihaven and I need to find Mary Jane! But at least I got a job quick at the Paprihaven Trumpet. This war business has all the news outlets going full throttle. And I can focus for once. Spider-Man is not needed. Paprihaven already has a strong super hero presence, and they've already made their presence painfully known to me!*
