Roppongi Hills' Mori Tower. This 54 storey high skyscraper is probably the most famous building in Roppongi - finished in 2003. It is now the home to shops, offices, an art museum and restaurants, and quite the landmark.

Always my old favourite: Tokyo Tower.
Built in 1958 and designed by Tachū Naitō (内藤 多仲), this 332.5 metres tall tower is heavily inspired the Eiffel Tower in Paris - you just have to ignore that it's painted in bright orange and white due to air safety regulations. But it is, of course, taller than the Eiffel Tower. If you are inspired by something you have to beat it too, by a whole 2.5 metres. It's main purpose is to house TV antennas and to be a tourist attraction offering a great view of the city.
Ponte Sant'Angelo, originally the Aelian Bridge or Pons Aelius, is a Roman bridge in Rome, Italy, completed in 134 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian (Publius Aelius Hadrianus), to span the Tiber from the city centre to his newly constructed mausoleum, now the towering Castel Sant'Angelo. The bridge is faced with travertine marble and spans the Tiber with five arches, three of which are Roman; it was approached by means of a ramp from the river. The bridge is now solely pedestrian and provides a scenic view of Castel Sant'Angelo.
In 1535, Pope Clement VII allocated the toll income of the bridge to erecting the statues of the apostles Saint Peter (holding a book, with the pedestal inscription Rione XIV) by Lorenzetto, and Saint Paul (holding a broken sword and a book, with the pedestal inscription Borgo) by Paolo Romano to which subsequently the four evangelists and the patriarchs were added to other statues representing Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Moses. For centuries after the 16th century, the bridge was used to expose the bodies of those executed in the nearby Piazza di Ponte, at the left bridge head. In 1669 Pope Clement IX commissioned replacements for the aging stucco angels by Raffaello da Montelupo, commissioned by Paul III. Bernini's program, one of his last large projects, called for ten angels holding instruments of the Passion: he personally only finished the two originals of the Angel with the Superscription "I.N.R.I." and the Angel with the Crown of Thorns, but these were kept by Clement IX for his own pleasure. They are now in the church of Sant'Andrea delle Fratte, also in Rome.

Notre Dame in Baueux is a beautiful medieval cathedral built in both Romanesque and Gothic style (depending on what part of the church you're looking at). But this tower is 19th century. Well, the lower part of it is properly medieval, but that part got renovated and a second level added in 1866 and all given that more-medieval-than-the-Middle-Ages look typical of the Neo-Gothic style. Still, it's pretty to look at.
We must remember that trees are our best friends. They are
always by our side to hug us with their caring branches like that of
open arms.

Zoom in and see if you can climb it :)
The glass from a skyscraper reflects the light from a nice sunrise in downtown Chicago. I also liked the round building to the right - the lower floors are a parking garage - the cars show up well from this angle. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_City
I've been busy this evening so I won't have time to visit your photos...tomorrow with luck.
I still haven't dug out my gone to seed parsnips as you can see -I'll be able to save the seed for planting next year.
“Of all man’s works of art, a cathedral is greatest. A vast and majestic tree is greater than that.”

On/Off - Thank you very much for your visit and taking the time to comment! Much appreciated!
Custer State Park has impressive views of granite spires, mountains and forests. Seen in the background on the right of this photo is Black Elk Peak's fire tower. At an elevation of 7,242 feet it is the highest point eastward between the Rocky Mountains in the US and the Pyranees in France.
Custer State Park is in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Washington Square Park in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York City. The arch, constructed of white Tuckahoe marble, stands 77 feet tall and was fashioned after Paris's 164-foot-tall Arch de Triomphe. Towering in the background, at right, is One Fifth Avenue, a beautiful Art Deco building where I used to stay whenever I ventured into the Village.
Attempt at showing the size of one of the big virgin red pines in the Lost Forty forest.
This section of forest lies within the Chippewa National Forest near Bigfork, Minnesota. A Minnesota DNR Scientific and Natural Area, the 32 acre Lost Forty SNA, is also part of this beautiful site.
Due to a surveying error back in 1882, this 144 acre section was never logged. As a result, there are numerous 300-400 year old magnificent old-growth red and white pines in this special place.
The sight of these incredible trees isn't the only thing you experience here. The smell of this forest is unique. The sound is also unique. The breeze blowing through the crowns of these old pines make this piece of the north woods sing a totally different tune than most other sections of forest up here. You have to experience it to understand what I am saying.
For more information about the Lost Forty, go to the Chippewa National Forest's Lost Forty Website or the Minnesota DNR's Lost Forty SNA Website.
Yet another from yesterday. Initially ignored this shot, but went back to it and actually, I think it works.

This modern sculpture can be found alongside the Thames in the North Greenwich area and as can be seen here, provides a nice juxtaposition to the Emirates Cable Car which operates nearby.

"Be drawn to the spectacular sandstone country of Nitmiluk National Park and the majestic Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge with spectacular cliffs that glow in the changing light.
Nitmiluk National Park, just 30 kilometres north-east of Katherine, covers a vast area, including 13 impressive gorges carved from the ancient sandstone country which stretch for as far as the eye can see.
Watch the gorge move through a spectrum of colours and glowing hues on a sunrise or sunset river cruise. As you observe the cliff faces towering over the boat, sit back and listen as the traditional owners of the park, the Jawoyn people, transport you into a spiritual world of their culture and history."
This was what we saw on the magic sunset cruise, every word was true.
Only way I could get the full front view was from out of the grounds, thus not avoiding the railings but I don’t think they stand out
Thanks to all who take the time to visit and comment on my photo stream....it's greatly appreciated. Also for all of the invitations to join or post my photos into groups
