Saturday 27th June 2015 - sign outside the Star of bethnal Green pub wishing everyone a Happy Pride.

The Star of Bethnal Green was itself a gay pub in a previous life.

St. Matthew's church, St. Matthew's Row, Bethnal Green.

The church was designed by George Dance in 1742 and got half built but because of insufficient funds, fire, strikes and rows between the architect and the builders it wasn't completed until 1861. In 1940 the Germans bombed it and it was rebuilt in 1961.

The Kray's funerals were held here.

That's Okay, don't mention it.

At Mabley Green, Hackney

Corner of Holywell Lane and Shoreditch High Street (above Barone sandwich bar). I've passed this location countless times and never noticed this before.

To dispel the winter gloom, I've uploaded some photos taken earlier this year of the colourful Sunday flower market in Columbia Road, Bethnal Green.

A quiet street of Victorian houses during the week, Columbia Road comes alive on Sundays when the flower market takes over between 8am and 2pm. Many of the small shops also open on the day, adding to the atmosphere which also spills over into adjoining streets. It's very busy, so go early to avoid the crowds - or late to seek out bargains.

Wednesday 20th May 2015 - the plant man's stall on Bethnal Green Road is well stocked at the moment with Summer annuals.

View on leaving Shoreditch High Street Station.

Susan Sontag once said: "Time eventually positions most photographs, even the most amateurish, at the level of art." I hope you enjoy this work of art :-)

A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my friends and contacts on Flickr, and to everyone who has enjoyed my photos.

the V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, London E2, was opened in June 1872. Parts of the building were originally in Hyde Park as part of the Great Exhibition of 1851. The cubic structure attached to the front is a recent addition.

The museum is situated just a few steps from Bethnal Green Underground (Central Line) and is open every day from 10am to 5.30pm. Admission is free.
