Il parco naturale lombardo della Valle del Ticino è un'area naturale protetta istituita il 9 gennaio 1974 ed è il più antico parco regionale d'Italia nonché il più antico parco fluviale d'Europa. È situato lungo le rive del fiume Ticino interamente in Lombardia e interessa le province di Milano, formando una cintura verde intorno alla città, Pavia e Varese, in un'area di 91.410 ettari compresa tra il Lago Maggiore e il Po con uno sviluppo in lunghezza di circa 100 km.

Il parco confina con il parco naturale della Valle del Ticino in Piemonte, creato nel 1978.

We woke up today (Sept 28th) to the news that the famous Sycamore tree which gives its name to Sycamore Gap on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland had been cut down overnight.

The police have arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of criminal damage. He's probably safer locked up at the minute, such is the real anger up here in the North-East at this mindless and irreparable act . www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-66952980
