2018 has been a monumental year for superhero films, so I thought what better of a time would it be than count down my top 100 superhero movies of all-time! Now I wanted to make sure I included every Marvel and DC movie I’ve seen on this list, so there are a few “superhero” movies that I have seen, but didn’t make the list. As much as I love some of DC’s animated films, I wanted this list to only contain theatrically released superhero films. One more thing, director’s cuts, no matter how different they are, aren’t roped together with their original film (in case you were wondering why Batman v Superman and Watchmen were so high on the list).

Anyways, here are my 80th-61st favorite superhero films.

61. Venom

62. The Wolverine

63. Green Lantern

64. Kick-Ass 2

65. Blade

66. Spider-Man

78. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

I'll be uploading these once a day, so stay tuned for tomorrow's 60th-41st favorite superhero films!

I love Top Hats

Riding on the Hong Kong trams are awesome. No air con, open windows, mechanical sounds, and a rocky ride. It's also very cheap, and a great way to see the Island.

"top crop" pics are uploaded in no particular order, 33 in total, I tried top 10 and there's no way I could restrict myself to 10, top 20 didn't work either, 33 made the cut (paddle up/down stream for more), I'll re-upload 3 a day before the New Year

that one got probably most exuberant praise from the comments and I guess I can see why, strangely again I do like it but probably not as much as commenters did, it just goes to show ... show what? ... you know, it goes to show something or other ...

There was this old(ish) Soviet comedy movie, where 3 friends have a tradition of going to a sauna every New Year's eve. On this occasion, they had a few too many shots of vodka after the sauna and sent one of the guys (wrong guy) to a wrong city on a wrong flight... All sorts of hilarity ensue, all ends up with a heart warming love story. The movie Is a masterpiece. It is being screened and watched every year around New Year's eve for like 40 years now. It is a Russian reply to Love Actually. Only it's been out 20 years earlier so LA would be Brits' reply to it.

But I digress. I broke my wrist last year just before Christmas so I thought "that sounds like a good Xmas tradition, why not make it an annual affair?" And I did. That's my going to sauna annual gig now.

Now in a cast and a man of enforced leisure I am picking my top shots of the year.

The exercise has demonstrated to me 2 things:

- it's been a good year. In photographic terms. I ended up with 33 shots which I am determined to keep in the winners' bunch, none of them I want to dismiss. 33 photos I really like from one year is a very good crop in my book. It's 10% of good stuff out of all shots. I wouldn't ask for more.

- I have to renew "photo a day" business. I have PaD to thank for the shots I got. The discipline and relentless photoing of PaD inevitably produce good shots. If it wasn't for PaD I wouldn't have most of the shots in my top crop bunch. And who am I to rob humankind of great photos? I am in no position to do such a thing. So I have to start PaD for the sake of humanity.

Frühlingsfest München / Munich spring fest

Sunday Morning would be pride parade and late Saturday night I still had not finished my hijab outfit (which hadn't been finished the year before nor is it finished yet). First there were a number of baby quilts to finish and then suddenly long hours at work. As I made progress I continued to encounter unexpected challenges and sometimes had difficulty making a decision for fear of doing it wrong.

I almost decided just to skip out on Pride all together, after all I had put together a pretty good outfit for Summer Solstice and really enjoyed that. I decided though, that I'd kick myself for the rest of the year if I didn't attend, so I started to consider some options. There was the black polka dot office dress, I wore that a few years ago and liked it, though not the picture. I also had a tie-back black dress with floral pattern, which I went to sleep thinking about.

In the morning though, I just wasn't in the mood for it, so I thought why don't I wear a different top with the skirt. I had bought another darker green top which should be perfect for a warm day.

Aaaarrrrggggg!!!! It was way to small, what now?

Now I started seriously looking though all my stuff and was finding nothing I liked, until I came across this 45" square scarf. (I'd totally forgotten I even had it!) I instantly knew that I would be wearing hijab, just not the black outfit I had invisioned. I had not thought of the skirt as part of a hijab outfit until that moment! I guickly went back through my fabrics which include a knit green (blue-green?) sweat pants. I quickly sewed an underscarf, which was too small. If at first you don't succeed... I got it right on the second try. Now I started to be concerned about the time. So I sat down and did the make-up. And then wondered if I had enough time to view a You Tube video again on how to tie the scarf. No, but I'd seen them enough times that I was ready to try. I tied on the underscarf, which fit fabulously. Then I folded the scarf in half and centered it on my head. What if I wore it off center? A quick experiment indicated the point would fall on my shoulder. Hmmm, kind of works, I think, I hope ... I am also out of time, so here goes. I used three safety pins to hold it in place; I was not going experience any "slips"!

I thought stepping out the door in hijab would feel real strange. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't more exciting. But then off we went to catch the light rail into downtown Seattle.

Alhamdulillah, no stones came flying my way nor were there any insults and I had a great time as you can see from my parade images. Inshallah, I will finish my abaya and wear it somewhere before Pride Parade next year.
