My daughter lost another of her baby teeth this evening, and as she was getting ready for bed she asked us what the Tooth Fairy does with all the teeth she collects. Here's the letter she'll find under her pillow tomorrow morning:

"Dear Gwendolyn,

I have a special place where I will keep your teeth until you have lost all of your baby teeth, and then I will plant them together in my garden. From your teeth a beautiful magic flower will grow. My fairy helpers and I drink from these magic flowers, like hummingbirds, and that is how we can come visit you and other children.

Love and Magic,

The Tooth Fairy"

Temple of Tooth

Temple of Tooth also known as Dalda Maligawa is located in the city of Kandy Sri lanka. It is one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites and houses the sacred tooth of Lord Buddha. The tooth was said to be taken from the flames of Buddha's funeral pyre in 543 BC and was smuggled into Sri Lanka during the 4th century AD, hidden in the hair of princess.

This tooth (Scapanorynchus Texanus) is from the Cretaceous period and is approximately 70 million years old. My wife and I found it in NJ.

see my chipped tooth?

A simple tooth extraction removes a tooth that is visible in the mouth and easily accessible. Patients who experience chronic tooth sensitivity or are diagnosed with advanced periodontal disease will most likely require a simple tooth extraction. A Megaladon Tooth tooth found by David's grandson Kieran on Walton on the Naze beach in Essex (UK).

This tooth could be anything from 1,500,000 to 28,000,000 years old and has has emerged from the red crag deposits onto the surface of the beach which have been eroded away in the severe winter storms of 2013/2014.

A Megaladon was a huge prehistoric shark type creature.

Pretty cool eh!?

Thank you to David for photograph and thank you to Kieran for permission to post this to Flickr.

This was shot with a Canon Rebel G with a 24-105 F/4 L using FujiChrome Provia 100F film. The slide was then photographed with a Canon 40D using a 50mm macro in RAW, then edited in Lightrooom. So, is this film or is this digital? Maybe hybrid? Leave your comments below. Thanks.

I am GRATEFUL that the Tooth Fairy comes to our house - as does the Great Pumpkin, Santa Clause and sometimes even the Easter Bunny.

Little K lost a canine tooth yesterday and we had to scramble to find the book and pouch. Holding on the the innocence of youth as long as we can.

Top right of the xray is the tooth I've just had taken out. It was fused to the bone & they had to create a 'plug' to fill the hole, as when they removed the tooth it took out the bone it was attached to.

Tell you what, if I caught this guy looking under my pillow as a kid I would've been scarred for life!

This tooth had a failing root canal which needed to be replaced.
