Last week we retrieved (sorry about the pun) one of Jasper's baby teeth, I think the rest disappeared down his gullet. His adult teeth have now emerged and they are impressive. We have collected at least one baby tooth from all of our doggies.

Alex lost his first baby tooth last night. And this morning, he found five silver dollar coins under his pillow. He was super happy. i have a tooth gap. (fixed by braces, but when i don't wear my retainer it creeps back) and i've always hated the shape of my lips because i pretty much have a "gap lip" too... i have yet to see anyone with the same mutation, no one in my family has it.

I've just had a tooth extracted, after the filling that was in it fell out a couple of weeks ago, followed by most of the top part of the tooth. The dentist let me keep the extracted tooth as a souvenir. Most of what you can see there was below gum-level - teeth are a bit like icebergs in that there's a lot more of the visible under the surface than on top!
Next to the tooth is the filling, which I saved when it fell out.
This was the best of a quick series of shots I took with a view to having an illustration for my blog today. It was taken using a close-up filter on my lens and an external light (actually the flashlight on my phone) to supplement the rather inadequate daylight. I did a little bit of gentle post-processing on the image.
I'll probably try for some more careful photos once I'm feeling better recovered from this bit of dentistry and when there's better light available to use.

Wow, this is the first time I have something like this. The machine is kinda like a small CT scanner and it rotate around my head. Now, it is time for the painful part - the actual extraction of my tooth. I AM scared
