I told you, I had not many choices around the area I am staying to go out shoot sunset. Or maybe I am not good at identifying the right place as the landmark for my shots.

I settled at the area a stone-throw away from my house. The place is actually another housing estate that practically is sharing the same public amenities as the housing estate I am staying. Sometimes I tend to forget about the existence of this housing estate just next to us thinking that only Saujana Utama exists in the area – it is called Pristana.

The place was somewhat empty but the sky was brilliant that evening. I climbed up the slope overlooking houses in Pristana where I chose to have the tall grass positioned to the left as a silhouette to grace my shot. The rows of houses are actually visible in my original capture but I purposely darkened it in my editing to match the darkened horizon.

Hope you'll like it.

Happy Monday!

Have a good week ahead!

Motionless In White - Somebody Told Me

www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYazu20DUzc

Breaking my back just to know your name

Seventeen tracks, and I've had it with this game

I'm breaking my back just to know your name

But heaven ain't close in a place like this

Anything goes, but don't blink, you might miss

'Cause heaven ain't close in a place like this

I said, oh, heaven ain't close in a place like this

Bring it back down, bring it back down tonight (ooh, ooh, ooh)

Never thought I'd let a rumor ruin my moonlight

Well, somebody told me

You had a boyfriend

Who looked like a girlfriend

That I had in February of last year

It's not confidential, I've got potential

Ready, let's roll onto something new

Taking its toll then I'm leaving without you

'Cause heaven ain't close in a place like this

I said, oh, heaven ain't close in a place like this

Bring it back down, bring it back down tonight (ooh, ooh, ooh)

Never thought I'd let a rumor ruin my moonlight

Well, somebody told me

You had a boyfriend

Who looked like a girlfriend

That I had in February of last year

It's not confidential, I've got potential

A-rushing, a-rushing around

Pace yourself for me

I said maybe, baby, please

But I just don't know now (baby, baby)

When all I wanna do is try

Well, somebody told me

You had a boyfriend

Who looked like a girlfriend

That I had in February of last year

It's not confidential, I've got potential

A-rushing, a-rushing around

Somebody told me

Bawa Muhaiyaddeen told this version of Sufi story:

An ocean frog comes to visit a ditch frog, who is very proud of where he lives, a section of ditch two feet deep, four feet long, and three feet across. He jumps around demonstrating the elegant spaciousness of his place. “How do you like this?” “Very fine,” says the ocean frog. “What is it like where you live?” asks the ditch frog; he has never seen or heard of the ocean.

“I can’t really describe how it is where I live. Someday I’ll take you there.”

I had asked Bawa what the difference was between my consciousness and his. “Someone who lives in the confines of mind and desire is like the ditch frog. The ocean frog swims in the ocean of grace. It is good for them to visit each other.”

-From Coleman Barks’ Rumi: The Book of Love

Several days ago, I visited with a friend of mine and he mentioned that he and his wife took my advice and finally headed to the Sol Duc forest to see the abundant greens that are a huge part of this area. To my sadness, they did not see rich greens, but rather dull and stressed moss beds devoid of water. The summer drought on the Olympic Peninsula was serious stuff.

I felt bad enough, that I made a large print up similar to the effort above, yet horizontal, and gave it to them!

I will head here again in the late fall, hopefully to find a rush of moving water and a rebound of the lush green forest!

Sorry, this is once again from my archives......

In this post I told the story about my last minute pilgrimage to Montana Rail Link on the cusp of its flag lowering: flic.kr/p/2nLhAy6

So continuing with the series featuring one photo of each train in chronological trip order here is the thirteenth train of the trip and the second of Day 4. After an excellent breakfast at Jam! in Bozeman the plan was to drive east to Billings to rendezvous with a railroader buddy and chase some of the local jobs on the gritty urban east end of the railroad that are exclusively covered by old school GP9s. But that plan got interrupted by this. As we we were cruising east on I90 we suddenly were astonished to see a westbound manifest with pure blue MRL power. At first we weren't sure what it was since our railroad contacts said there was no LM road freight planned and it certainly wasn't the famous LAUBOZ (our main target for later in the afternoon). A quick check confirmed that it was a BNSF LAUPAS, which we knew was out there but assumed would have standard orange power so we'd not planned to shoot it. But due to a power shortage it was dispatched west behind MRL SD70ACes 4304 and 4308 with a plan to run all the way to Kootenai (way out at the far end of the railroad on the 4th Sub just a few miles shy of Sandpoint) where it would be parked and the power pulled off to await BNSF to provide their own units since MRL power can no longer lead on BNSF due to it not being equipped with IETMS.

So of course we couldn't pass up this good fortune and spun around for our first shot in Big Timber then chased back west 30 miles to Livingston before deciding to turn around again and resume out original plan. So without further ado here is a shot of the Pasco boune manifest snaking around a bluff beside the Yellowstone River (note the anglers in a boat along the bank beside the head end) near MP 99.5 a few miles east of Elton Siding.

Countless articles have been written about the MRL over the past 35 years of its existence and if you care to learn more download this great set of articles courtesy of Trains Magazine:

Mama told me when I was young

Come sit beside me, my only son

And listen closely to what I say

And if you do this it'll help you some sunny day

SIMPLE <---listen if ya want...

If I told you I was heading from my home in rural Wiltshire, into the Capital of England for some landscape photography, you might think I'd lost my marbles, unless of course you have heard of Richmond Park. At almost 2500 acres, it's three times the size of New York's Central Park, and is home to a large resident population of Red and Fallow Deer. With a promising forecast I headed for the City, hoping for a spot of mist and early morning sun. The conditions were perfect, and wandering through the woodland I couldn't help but fire off a few frames of the light rays penetrating the tree canopy.

I told you the thing did not look safe, but no,no, the adventure queen had to get on and tell me to pull the lever. It clanked and groaned and started around, and then with a jolt and a bang that nearly tossed you in the water...dead.

"Fix it!" you said, as if I knew anything at all about the mechanics of carnivals. "Climb down." "In this dress?" I started to reply and thought the better of it.

I found a soda machine that was still working, and tossed you a Coke. You sneered at it, "Coke, really?" As if there might be a choice in this place. "And it's warm!"

I sat don on the bottom gondola, opened a warm Coke, and settled in to wait for someone smarter than me to amble by and get us out of this mess.

And so we waited, at Dya's.

I told you I told you I told you to stay love

I told you I told you I told you to move on

But the second that we got it right

We got it all wrong

So I told you I told you I told you to move on

youtu.be/fshgbTx7LCg

Hmm, hmm

Hmm, hmm

I lied to you

I never cried for you

I swear that I tried to

But I had better things to do

Now you're on the road with your painful load

And the words I spoke left your big heart broken

You know you still bother

Because love is for the poor

So I left you knocking outside my front door

You knew what this was

I don't want you anymore

I warned you before

Warned you before

Well I, I coulda sworn I told you I was mean

You were a sweet old thing

And I was lonely, so I let you hold me for

A limited time only

You see, you're nothing to me

'Cause I'll always be a bad, bad seed

And you know you still bother

Because love is for the poor

So I left you knocking outside my front door

You knew what this was

I don't want you anymore

I warned…

My Grandfather once told me that the secrets of magic were my birthright, and that one day I would inherit that legacy from him. He would tell me that all others are beneath us, as Purebloods; that they would hate us, because of their jealousy; that every failure and setback would be them keeping me down. Yet now I find myself questioning everything he ever taught me; that my whole family has ever stood for. In the midst of every setback in pursuit of my inheritance, I have only found those who cared for me, and wished for me to succeed; and now I find myself with a purpose besides what he wanted for me. But, deep down, the part of me that is like, and still loves, my Grandfather, still wants what he promised, despite all the pain he inflicted on others. Must that come at the cost of everything I love, though, like he once said to me? That thought plagues me every day. Yet in the darkness, I find peace and quiet enough to forget the burden he placed on me. Perhaps a time when I must choose will never come...

In this post I told the story about my last minute pilgrimage to Montana Rail Link on the cusp of its flag lowering: flic.kr/p/2nLhAy6

So continuing with the series featuring one photo of each train in chronological trip order here is another BNSF job, the fourth train of the trip and the second of only four non MRL powered trains I'd shoot over four days.

The third train in a row, about 40 min behind the empty coal train, is seen dropping down the 2.2% grade of Evaro Hill at about MP 5.4 on the modern day MRL's 10th Subdivision mainline. This empty grain train running 1x1 DPU is crossing the Indreland Road crossing behind an elderly C44-9W (GE blt. Oct. 2000) in H2 paint faded from orange to more of a peach color.

The rails here are the original Northern Pacific Railway mainline that opened in 1883 as the second transcontinental railroad. This route was largely supplanted in 1909 when the NP completed a cut off between the mainline at Paradise and the Coeur d'Alene Branch at St. Regis creating a water level route from DeSmet (just west of Missoula) that exists today as MRL's 4th Subdivision Mainline. In days of old the 10th Sub over Evaro Hill was largely the domain of passenger trains though today MRL sees fit to use it for empty eastbound unit trains such as this. The only regular exception to the rule are the gas locals which seem to take this route west whenever they can due to their light tonnage which allows them to make the hill with ease while shaving off nearly 30 miles.

Literally the only lego thing I did in the past five months

Sunset by Marques Houston

I remember the day you first told me that

I was the man that had your heart

From that day forth I knew that nothing would

Evee come and tear us apart

So then people try to warn me about you

Said that I should never trust you

But so stupid me I didn't listen then

I let myself go fall in love with you

(What happened to us)

You were supposed to be my future

But do I really have to take it right back

(Are you really in love)

Or was I just a game to prove to yourself

You could get a man

You're more beautiful than anything in this world

More precious than the rarest diamond or pearl

And even though we didn't work out together

You're still my sunset-set-set-set

And I know that you and I are two worlds apart

But you'll always be the one to have my heart

I'm gonna love you for now and forever

Cause you're my sunset-set-set-set-set

Your innocent smile used to drive me wild

Even though you ain't innocent at all

And now I feel so stupid cause I'm the only man

That ever loved you even with all your flaws

Even your best friend questioned why

I still wanted to be with you after knowing your past

But she didn't understand in knowing your past

Was why I thought we could past

(What happened to us)

We had something special but

Was I not good enough for youet

(Are you really in love)

Catch some flowers fly because without even trying

I still ended up hurting you and I'm sorry

You're more beautiful than anything in this world

More precious than the rarest diamond or pearl

And even though we didn't work out together

You're still my sunset-set-set-set

And I know that you and I are two worlds apart

But you'll always be the one to have my heart

I'm gonna love you for now and forever

Cause you're my sunset-set-set-set-set

Maybe one day we'll end up talking again

Maybe one day we'll go back to being just friends

Promise to love you baby till my life ends

Cause you're my sunset-set-set-set-set

No matter what happened between me and you

I'll always be the man that you could run to

I loved you then I love you now and forever

Cause you're my sunset-set-set-set-set-set

Please no flash or picture comments :) I value your opinion so please leave your honest opinion and leave the flash comments out! Thanks! :)

Bobby told me that one of the CP F units was dragged from Albia to Moravia yesterday, so I took a trip down to see where it might have ended up. I found it on the connection track and with a nice hike through a field, I was able to grab a view I've not seen before. Can't tell what they did to it, but I'm glad to shoot it anyway.

A beautiful little finch with a sharp pink bill, cherry-red face, and brilliant black-and-yellow flashes in the wings. Juvenile (seen in late summer and autumn) has a plain head but is told easily by bold wing pattern.

Uses a wide array of wooded and open habitats, from forests and gardens to steppe grasslands and meadows; often feeds on seeding thistles.

Forms flocks in autumn and winter, gathering at food sources. Can be inconspicuous, but often detected by pleasant bubbling and twittering calls and song.

"The secret of a good life is to have the right loyalties and hold them in the right scale of values."

My birding high point of the SA trip was seeing this sought-after species which finally popped out of the spinifex in the bitter damp wind, after I'd been sitting there for a genuine half hour - just as I was giving up and leaving.

Mt Ive is a station that makes the most of its tourist potential i.e. birds and Lake Gairdner. This bird was on the mountain itself (Mt Ive), though "over the top and down the hill to the flat bit" as I had been told - location in next photo.

In this post I told the story of my first visit to Blue Island and the crazy variety show of trains.

Here is the third one I listed. CSXT Q01602 (intermodal Bedford Park, IL to Chambersburg, PA) hammers the CN diamonds after crossing the bridge across the Calumet Sag Channel on Indiana Harbor Belt Main 1 at MP 15.2.

This image shows the full impressive sweep of the five bridges spanning the canal, IAIS, IHB, abandoned yard lead, CN, and CSXT from L to R. Note: CSXT is responsive for maintenance of both the IHB and CN lines along with their own historic ex B&OCT route here and they have full dispatch and operational control of CN's ex GTW line as well now.

You wanna get to know me

You memorized the lines of my thighs

I knew before you told me you'd get it right

And you took the dark for granted

And you love me like you promised your wife

It's almost like you planned it in the daylight

I like the way you say it

Tell me the words you told me that day

Maybe if I could believe it I could just stay

'Cause I like the way you do it

Yeah I like the way you move it baby show me the way

I like the way you get it on the freeway

And I wish I could change it

And we're always gonna be contaminated

And oh, I know what we need

You start letting me go

Our love is tainted

You said they'd be against us

I say, "You care too much what they say"

You said, "Do me a favor, give me some faith"

'Cause you promised me you'd do it

You said, "Baby, let me prove it, look at me in the face

This is the face of someone who loves you, babe"

And I wish I could change it

And we're always gonna be contaminated

And oh, I know what we need

You start letting me go

Our love is tainted

And I wish I could change it

And we're always gonna be contaminated

And oh, I know what we need

You start letting me go

After being told we could find Red Squirrels at Wooler common we headed there in the hopes of photographing one.

We made contact with a bunch of photogs who were already set up with their cameras on tripods at a likely location, We spent the best part of an hour hanging about waiting in anticipation of a sighting of the elusive Red Squirrel.

It was not to be, not even a sniff, we gave up as it got colder and headed back to the car but on the way I spotted this composition with a gorgeous reflection so at least I came away with a couple of shots. BUT as we turned out of the car park I spotted one but by that time the camera was all packed away, we headed off in search of hot chocolate.

Well truth be told, I don't have any fictitious figures lying around the house. I looked just about everywhere and nothing. My friend Helen is hosting the Macro Mondays group this week so I wanted to come up with something for the theme. I decided it was time to widen the search, my son Daniel happened to be home so it was time to see what he had. Well Daniel has all kinds of fictitious action figures that come as models and he assembles. Both my son's grew up in the war gaming world, my one son designs them for a living and Daniel enjoys putting them together. I chose Unicorn, a derivation of the original Gundam, a little warrior ready for battle. I'm good with that and that's the extent of my knowledge so please no questions. I will add you're looking at 1.5 inches from the tip of his helmet wing thing to the bottom of the red marking on the shield he's holding. Shot with one light off to the left and some fairy lights in the back, for my good bokeh friends, sorry no bubbles from the Voigtlander...

Shot with: VOIGTLANDER, 125mm f/2.5 SL, MACRO APO-LANTHAR, shot @ f/4.0, 31 Layer Focus Stack Rendered w/Helicon Focus, (B,R5,S3).

I was told Lightroom does an amazing job of stitching together photos to make a panorama. I must say after using the merge I agree. This image is three photos merged as a panorama in Lightroom. I am just totally blown away.

The other week I told the story of the procession of lizards through our backyard on one day in particular. The first one that day which I erroneously described at the time as a bearded dragon (well, he is pretty small) we have named Harry after the green Iguana in the comedy/drama TV series "Death in Paradise". Harry has become quite a regular in our backyard since although he (or she) is really only a little one compared to the size Eastern Water Dragons* which he is, grow to.

We don't have any water close by so why he has taken up residence here we don't know. But he will be loved as much as any of our little menagerie of animals and birds who live with or visit us regularly. This is him this morning having a roam around on the back fence, lucky timing as I was taking a shot of the Tibouchina Tree at the same time.

Harry is less than a foot long (in old money).

* For Queenslanders, our local motoring organisation, the RACQ has a brilliant series of comedic ads on TV at the moment featuring talking Australian wildlife including two Eastern Water Dragons discussing flood insurance. Here it is

Oh, the night is my world

City lights, painted girls

In the day nothing matters

It's the night-time that flatters

In the night, no control

Through the wall something breaking

Wearing white as you're walkin'

Down the street of my soul

You take my self, you take my self control

You got me livin' only for the night

Before the morning comes, the story's told

You take my self, you take my self control

Another night, another day goes by

I never stop myself to wonder why

You make me forget to play my role

You take my self, you take my self control

I, I live among the creatures of the night

I haven't got the will to try and fight

Against a new tomorrow, so I guess I'll just believe it

That tomorrow never comes again

Night, I'm living in a moment of dream

I know the night is not as it would seem

I must believe in something, so I'll make myself believe it

That this night will never go

Oh, oh, oh! Oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, oh! Oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, oh! Oh, oh, oh!

Oh, the night is my world

City light painted girl

In the day nothing matters

It's the night-time that flatters

(Oh the night) You take my self

(Is my world) You take my self control

(City lights) You got me living

(Painted girls) Only for the night

(In the day) Before the morning

(Nothing matters) Comes the story's told

(It's the night) You take my self

(Time that flatters) You take my self control

I say night

(You take my self, you take my self control)

I live among the creatures of the night

(You take my self, you take my self control)

I haven't got the will to try and fight

(You take my self, you take my self control)

Against a new tomorrow

So I guess I'll just believe it

(You take my self, you take my self control)

That tomorrow never knows

Oh, oh, oh! Oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, oh! Oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, oh! (You take my self, you take my self control)

Oh, oh, oh! (You take my self, you take my self control)

Oh, oh, oh! (You take my self, you take my self control)

My niece told me geography and erosion were boring so she had a sleep on the beach while I spent an hour on 100 metres of eroded coast, youth eh.

Ana told me some nice things about this town, man, what a trip ...

That's why I let my imagination go when I'm processing pictures of this place.

It's kind of enjoying an Ice cream in a winter Sunday morning,

Being on the wrong place at the right time,

listening to the blues player say that if it wasn't for his bad luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all.

That I'm a good hearted guy, but I keep my heart up my ass half of the time, (no funny thoughts here bud), or let's go to the crazy people house, during the war and have some fun. (Even then man were not available).

But remember, everything that you do at night, shows up during the day ....

Ahhhh, my back is killing me today, so I've decided to let myself go and talk like a Morecambe man.

That's all folks.

“I told you to look at Fermat’s pictures on Flickr, he’s not known as the ‘Rain Man’ for nothing; we could then have chosen somewhere where the sun shines all day.”

PS Disclaimer in case the ‘Tourist Board’ is checking: It doesn’t always rain in Manchester just some of the time; it’s just that I mainly take pictures in the rain. There, I hope that gets me out of trouble……Lol

Happy New Year everyone….!

Visited the Princeton Cemetery (New Jersey) which was established in 1757 and is most notably the site of Grover Cleveland, Aaron Burr (both Jr. and Sr.) and Paul Tulane’s graves/monuments.

However, the find of the day was the grave of William H. Hahn, Jr. which said, “I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK”

Yr Wyddfa (Welsh name for Snowdon) is the highest peak in Wales & England. I ache in places that I didn't know could ache.

In 1991, when I broke my neck the first time, I was told that I would never walk without assistance. I've broken my neck again since then, as well as my back twice - vertebrae C3-5, T7-9 & L3-5. I also survived a stroke 10 years ago. I've had to learn to walk twice from these incidents but I've been lucky in that my Spinal Cord has remained intact.

It just goes to show that almost anything is possible if we're resilient and determined.

If anyone says you can't, tell them you can.

If anyone says you won't, shout at them that you will.

A week or so ago Gracie was here and I went inside for a minute when I came back outside she told me she saw a fox run into the woods. She said she noticed it because the birds were creating a ruckus.

I saw "the" fox this morning as I was sitting at the kitchen bar. She was only here for a moment and I grabbed my camera and got some shots...difficult light and dirty windows. ;)

This spring there has been a lot of visitors to our bird feeders but since it became hot it has slowed down...except at night when the raccoons bring their youngsters to the feeders. I have had to bring them in at night because they will come up missing. There is a very nice anti-squirrel bird birdfeeder out there somewhere and I hope to find it this fall. :)

My great grandmother told me, my grandmother told me, and my mother told me too. I laugh now when I think of all the tricks I invented to avoid eating lima beans, mushy peas, and over cooked zucchini. These days, I eat them all without reservation--okay I've never jelled with the lima beans but I'm okay with the rest. Of course everything looks so much better these days. Just check out this organic veggie display I saw in a store along the San Francisco Embarcadero. Looks almost good enough to eat me thinks.

Truth be told, I did not do my research, and was blown away by just how tiny these hazlenut bracts are. Trees have both male and female flowers, but the trees cannot self-pollinate, so the wind has to carry pollen over to another tree. These bracts, about 6-7 mm (1/4" ) contain the female reproductive organs, while the red feathery bits are the styles of the flower. They are about 2-3 mm (0.09") across, and are made up of tube-like structures that collect the male pollen from another tree, and transports it to the ovary. The pollinated flower then creates a hazlenut.

Thomas the Apostle, also known as Didymus was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. Thomas is commonly known as "Doubting Thomas" because he initially doubted the resurrection of Jesus Christ when he was told of it (as is related in the Gospel of John); he later confessed his faith ("My lord and my God") on seeing the places where the wounds appeared still fresh on the holy body of Jesus after the Crucifixion of Jesus. While it is often assumed he touched the wounds in art and poetry, the scriptures do not say that he touched the wounds, merely that Jesus invited him to do so, with it being unclear if he actually felt them.

Bartholomew the Apostle was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. Most scholars today identify Bartholomew as Nathanael, who appears in the Gospel of John.

Andrew the Apostle also called Saint Andrew, was an apostle of Jesus. According to the New Testament, he was a fisherman and one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus. The title First-Called stems from the Gospel of John, where Andrew, initially a disciple of John the Baptist, follows Jesus and, recognizing him as the Messiah, introduces his brother Simon Peter to him.

Andrew the Apostle was born to a Jewish family in Bethsaida, in Galilee, possibly between 5 and 10 AD. The New Testament states that Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter, and likewise a son of Jonah.

Matthew the Apostle (Saint Matthew) was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. According to Christian traditions, he was also one of the four Evangelists as author of the Gospel of Matthew, and thus is also known as Matthew the Evangelist.

Matthew is mentioned in Matthew 9:9 and Matthew 10:3 as a tax collector (in the New International Version and other translations of the Bible) who, while sitting at the "receipt of custom" in Capernaum, was called to follow Jesus. He is also listed among the Twelve Disciples, but without identification of his background, in Mark 3:18, Luke 6:15 and Acts 1:13.

Mark the Evangelist or Saint Mark, was the person who is traditionally ascribed to be the author of the Gospel of Mark.

According to Christian tradition, one of the four evangelists, the author of the Gospel of Mark. Mark the Evangelist is included among the seventy apostles and is identified with Mark-John, a disciple of the Apostle Peter; he is credited with the role of the founder of the Alexandrian church, which later became one of the most important episcopal sees.

Saint Peter also known as Peter the Apostle, Simon Peter, Simeon, Simon, or Cephas, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ and one of the first leaders of the early Christian Church. He appears repeatedly and prominently in all four New Testament gospels as well as the Acts of the Apostles. Catholic tradition treats Peter as the first bishop of Rome—or pope—and also as the first bishop of Antioch.

According to Christian tradition, Peter was crucified in Rome under Emperor Nero. The ancient Christian churches all venerate Peter as a major saint and the founder of the Church of Antioch and the Church of Rome,

Philip the Apostle was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. Later Christian traditions describe Philip as the apostle who preached in Greece, Syria, and Asia-Minor.

All three Synoptic Gospels and the Book of Acts list Philip as one of the apostles; he is always listed on the fifth place. The Gospel of John recounts Philip's calling as a disciple of Jesus. Philip is described as a disciple from the city of Bethsaida, and the evangelist connects him with Andrew and Peter, who were from the same town. He also was among those surrounding John the Baptist when the latter first pointed out Jesus as the Lamb of God. It was Philip who first introduced Nathanael (sometimes identified with Bartholomew) to Jesus. According to Butler, Philip was among those attending the wedding at Cana.

Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist

Bajo la sombra de los toldos

I recently told you about my unexpected experiences on an evening walk, which ultimately led me to the Prince George Tower on the Ungerberg near Neustadt in Saxony.

I would of course like to show you this little tower. The photo was taken during a break that I needed to stabilize my circulation before I could tackle the 132 steps to the viewing platform.

I didn't count the steps myself, by the way. As I entered the tower, a young woman came towards me who did this on the way down. I spontaneously adopted her counting (she made a very trustworthy impression on me).

Incidentally, an observation tower was built on this spot in 1846 so that people could see over the treetops. But just two years later the tower was destroyed by arson. In 1883, a stone tower was built, although it was only 18 m high. It was not until 1973, during a renovation, that the tower reached its current height of 33 m.

louize told me that this was a bit of luck, she was going to take the swan as a shot on it's own but the seagull flew over the swan as she took it, but how ever it happened it's a fantastic result!
