Underwater photo taken in Cozumel of the splendid toadfish. Also know as the coral toadfish they are endemic to the island of Cozumel. Very shy creatures that can be seen under coral heads by their whiskers.

Landing in Nantucket, a colleague was kind enough to meet Jason and TJ at the airport with the fish to minimize transit time for the fish.
We went to the market on Halloween, hoping to find something to carve into a Jack-o-Lantern. In the end we decided that celeriac is WAY spookier than a boring old pumpkin.
The toadfish is one of the Batrachoididae. They are benthic ambush predators, known for their ability to produce sound with their swim bladders used to attract mates.
