Landing in Nantucket, a colleague was kind enough to meet Jason and TJ at the airport with the fish to minimize transit time for the fish.

Large Eye Toadfish

We went to the market on Halloween, hoping to find something to carve into a Jack-o-Lantern. In the end we decided that celeriac is WAY spookier than a boring old pumpkin.

The toadfish is one of the Batrachoididae. They are benthic ambush predators, known for their ability to produce sound with their swim bladders used to attract mates.

I may confuse this one with the large eye toadfish (batrachoides gilberti). The problem with toadfishes is that they seldom leave their enclosure, unless you're patient or crafty. Good thing many toadfish species carry distinguishing liveries.
