Avignon (Provence, South France)
In 1309 the city was chosen by Pope Clement V as his residence when the city and the surrounding Comtat Venaissin were ruled by the kings of Sicily from the house of Anjou, and from 9 March 1309 till 13 January 1377 was the seat of the Papacy instead of Eternal Rome. French King Philip the Fair, who had inherited from his father all the rights of Alphonse de Poitiers, the last Count of Toulouse, made them over to Charles II, King of Naples and Count of Provence (1290). Nonetheless, Phillip was a shrewd ruler. Inasmuch as the eastern banks of the Rhone marked the edge of his kingdom, when the river flooded up into the city of Avignon, Phillip taxed the city since during periods of flood, the city technically lay within his domain. Regardless, on the strength of the donation of Avignon, Queen Joanna I of Sicily, as countess of Provence, sold the city to Clement VI for 80,000 florins (9 June, 1348) and, though it was later the seat of more than one antipope, Avignon belonged to the Papacy until 1791, when, during the disorder of the French Revolution, it was reincorporated with France.
I bought this at Edward's Luggage: a pocket leather notepad and business card holder, with pen. It is more efficient and portable than any PDA. It costs less than $20 and Edward's Luggage even sells replacement notepads.
To Do List is a personal project about the things we cherish and aspire to do in our every day lives. Hope it inspires you!

How hard was the theme this week??? Not sure I'm 100% happy with this, but I've run out of time!!!
Atleast next week will seem easy after this!!
two hundred sixty two
Rainy, cold and very 'FALL" like day. I liked it actually. It kind of went along with my mood.
I love these pants I have on in the picture, except I swear my thighs got bigger xD Goodness.
I have lots to do today. So I must continue forward on my todolist. My parents go out of town..in fact, out of country this week so I must pack my stuff and prepare to live at 'not my house'. Ha. Excellent. And on top of that, must continue finishing my speech for Speech class, I want it to be enjoyable and not sleep worthy. I'm doing it on 'How to Photograph Night Life'. Wish me luck, I need it.
(P.S. I miss you Flickr. My weeks are so often crazy and that there is no time to upload. Be thankful I take time to actually take a photo. Life is just utterly crazy right now and I can't wait until it settles down a bit. Which probably won't be until some time after January is through.)

the formation of the mountains (pass) in the background is called Lappenpforte (or Lapland-gate), because this is the way the sapmi-people are crossing the mountains in spring and autumn with their reindeers

Take this multi-functional helper with you everywhere! Use it for grocery lists and coupons, home improvement shopping lists and paint/fabric swatches, gift shopping lists with a place for coupons and receipts, stick a pack of crayons in the pocket and let your children draw on the notepad while waiting in lines or at a restaurant. Fill it with just what you need and toss it into your car, diaper bag, or purse. Carry it when you travel, tucking your passport and tickets into the pocket. This is a GREAT gift for teachers and anyone else that likes to stay organized!
Includes a 5"W x 8"H lined notepad tucked into the right side pocket, a pen/pencil pocket, business card pocket, and a large pocket on the left side to help you keep your loose items contained. Felt stabilizer keeps the front and back covers firmly in shape.
Dimensions:
6"W x 9"H when closed. Includes a 5x8 notepad as pictured, other items not included.
I get sick of having to check other programs/websites for my to-do list. Since I have Photoshop open 99% of the time anyway, I decided just keeping an editable .PSD file as my background would be the most useful way to maintain a to-do list.
The circle in the corner is for my hard drive icon, and the "loading dock" area is for the various junk files and screen shots that inevitably clutter up my desktop during the day.

This is the other half of yesterday's layout. I took so many pictures on this trip! I wanted to squeeze as many as I could into the page. The list challenge was fun to do, too!
Because we are having to have the sunroom ceiling re-done- due to some leaks- I have had to pack up ALL my glass and art and mementos in the room- there are LOTS of them! Not to mention the art on the walls, the tables and chairs and ALL the other things you might imagine I have to move! Impossible without Ken's help, and of course with the broken shoulder, he Can't help! So I am going pack up all I can, move what is possible for me to drag out, and hope the contractor will have some sympathy for the situation when we come down to the wire . . .
Taken for the Jules' Photo Challenge Group:
The August 2015 Photo Challenge is a month long, black & white challenge that will consist of 1 photo per day. Each photo must pertain to something that happened in your life on that day- an event you attended, a person who had an impact on you, an object that played some role in your day.
That second to last one should say say "Free Geek". Toodledo (the site I used for my "to do" list truncated it).
Anything I'm forgetting?
Completely skipped day 38, such a fail. I can't believe I missed it, I mean, I have such an organized To Do List!
