I just might have something interesting+different to show at this year's Maker Faire NYC beyond the usual 3D printed stuff!

This was the piece with just started with a wash of an olive lime green. It has ended with an owl, frog, upside down alice, buddha and part of a chocolate wrapper...

Made a light tent using a couple of cardboard boxes, some tissue paper, two pieces of white poster board and some tape. Cost less than $5 - flashes not included!

This is one of my Styrofoam head art pieces. It's a work in progress.

This one is covered with tissue paper. The rainbow on the sides and white on the back are done with wadded up pieces of tissue paper. The front is done with just flat torn pieces of pink and blue tissue paper.

So Little Sir's first gift for his brithday week was a t-shirt (he loves t-shirts, so it's not as silly as it sounds--my kid is weird, we have accepted it), he opened the box and thought the gift was tissue paper and was SO EXCITED. And we were like, "no, the gift is inside the tissue paper." He looked at the gift said "that's nice, thanks, Mommy can you wash it?" Tossed it at me and dragged the paper to a table and then spent an hour cutting and taping the paper into an apron.

It's nice to know tissue paper will serve as a gift in a pinch, I guess.
