I recently held a giveaway on my blog, and had two Hero Arts clear stamp sets and one Hero Arts wood stamp to prepare for mailing.
Because I am mailing them, I decided to use a tag for a card and tissue paper as the wrapping, to minimize the weight and thus the shipping charges.
Stamping on the tissue paper was a bit trickier than I thought. I ended up liking tone-on-tone results the best. And it was helpful to make sure the tissue paper was flat and taught before stamping ... so an extra pair of hands or good paper weights can help!
I really like how the packages turned out and sure hope the recipients enjoy them!

this isn´t homemade paper but the kind of paper you get your meat wrapped into if you go to the butcher....some of this kind of paper is waxed on one side and some is waxed on both sides..if you curle it together it makes these folds and if you then paint it with some color used for coloring leather, don´t know the name in english but danish is: narvsværte......maybe you have to cleanse it with some tissuepaper or toiletpaper when almost dried...when using it you have to be aware of the color is strong and when getting wet again it will give the color to other materials very easily....you must give it some lacquer or some glue....and it will get into the glue and paint if you try to cover it....but if you are careful and do use a good amount of toiletpaper and clean it when it´s almost dry and let it dry afterwards...you can use the papers...but maybe you should use them alone and not add some white paint on it, is my experience....

Collagraph influenced by what was seen within my "magic box". Gum strip, Sellotape and masking tape were used on a sheet of mount board, and then cut into, producing a range of textures ready to be put through the press. Presented on tissue and cartridge paper.

Someone sounded the all-clear signal and so Yuba left his secure location behind the curtains in the kitchen.
Killing time at the Mall of America, Kendal and I had the craziest encounters.
Here is one.
We were laughing so hard, I thought I was going to throw up... but got these without him or his girlfriend/wife noticing. She laughed really hard at him later when she finally noticed the tp tail (yeah, we stalkerishly watched them go about their business). As far as we saw he had walked from the bathrooms to the food court, got food, left and came back, all with that hanging out of his pants. Incredible.

I then wrapped strips of white tissue paper around the outer loop to make it a little prettier and to hide the newsprint.
I cut 1-3/4 inch strips of wood and placed these inside the star where the strips intersect. It's hard to explain correctly, but you can see how this gives the star more depth in the next photo.
I also snipped the spokes inside the stars, leaving about an inch behind.
I was in awe of Cathey Love's Dragon Eye project when she posted it on Facebook, so we had to try it at McNeil. It's in the rotation now!
We drew dragon eyes, went over that drawing with Sharpies, added shaded colored pencil accents, and then the real fun happened - we used bleeding tissue squares to add color! I've never used bleeding tissues before, but I'm hooked. What a fun way to add color. For the last step, we added chalk pastel to the eye.
I really love how each eyes is as individual as the artist making it.
