Paper Hot Air Balloon made by a friend and myself, members of Turma Citlalmina.

This is the second balloon I made and the first successfully launched. My first balloon caught fire during inflation.

These are small branches of pink tissue paper cherry blossoms arranged in a vase, which I salvaged from a much larger piece. A friend made a very pretty centerpiece a while ago for an event - the theme was China. She took several large branches, spray painted them in gold and glued on "cherry blossoms."

I am in love with Washi Tapes that I get from the Tinted Mint. They dress up my packaging, but are environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and are relatively inexpensive for the way that I use them. These tapes come in a miriad of colors and patterns and several widths. They are re-positionable, even on my tissue paper!

My nephew Ethan playing underneath my sister's Christmas Tree. The light was shining in and it looked quite nice. :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope you're having a fabulous day. ^___^

Another unique faux painting idea for a bathroom except that it's tissue paper and not paint this time. The client was thinking wall paper and I was thinking grass cloth, so we came up with this great look...

I couldn't resist inking up my favourite owls for one of the cards I made for my guest designer spot on Lily Pad Cards today. More details on this card and the other cards I made can be found over at Lily Pad Cards www.lilypad.inlinkz.com/2011/09/29/guest-designer-heather... .

Thanks again to Deborah and Vicky for having me over at the Lily Pad, it was lots of fun:)

Time to ignite the burner.

The burner used in this balloon is a constant burning unit powered by two, X-configured, solid fuel rods.

At the crown of the balloon there is a hole which is used to easily deflate the balloon after testing it. This opening is sealed before the actual final flight.

Liquid UHU glue with a wet paint brush. The glue dilutes nicely with water and washes out of a synthetic bristled brush very easily. Ultimate glue control. I love UHU liquid glue.

I love giving personalized items as gifts. For Administrative Professionals Day this year, I simply used the first initial of each recipient's name to communicate the destination of each gift.

These gift tags added a personal touch, but they weren't difficult to create. In Photoshop, I used a free texture offered by Abby Lanes for the background. After placing the single initial on top of the texture and adding a light drop shadow, I had the tags printed on card stock at our local print shop. I attached them to the gift bags using curling ribbon. With the addition of some colorful tissue paper, the gifts were ready to be delivered.

Of course, the contents are much more important than the decoration on the outside of the package, but it's always nice for the presentation to have a personal touch, because the real star of the show is actually the receiver ... not the gift.

Available soon from the Bindlegoods store - appearing the 2nd week of Sept 2015.

What makes a beastie? These rolypolys use a honeycomb re-created to have the smaller spacing and the tissue layer count of vintage items circa 1920. The characters have a slot within the basket that allows for Halloween treats or the insertion of a small battery operated tealight. Characters are printed (in a limited edition run) in rich color of blacks, oranges, and yellows on a thick 34pt matte stock. (with an almost waxy surface) They can be placed in upright positions (with minimal support), tilted (at their randomly natural angle), or as I discovered when a wind came thru the window - in spinning motion across the table...

This texture was NOT done in Photoshop. It's all in-camera.

I thought I'd give Through the Viewfinder (TtV) a try, but I never do things the normal way. Instead of using a twin lens camera to focus an image onto ground glass, I thought I'd just use an enlarger lens to focus an image onto homemade screens made of various materials (so far tissue paper and wax paper).

These were made from instructions in one of Claudine Hellmuth's books. I've been experimenting lately with lots of different backgrounds.

Ten, fifteen years ago I made multi-media paintings. This is a detail from one. I started a painting with watercolor. Then I layered on pieces of tissue paper I had colored with acrylic inks. When the sunlight hit it this morning, I saw how much rust color it had. ;)

Wall - Tissue Paper 01

UHU liquid glue works great with tissue paper. I found the slight "ledge" created between the tissue frame, the page hole, and the insert vellum frame gave a good spot for gluing and aligning. I thought the vellum was going to be too stiff but it ended up being an advantage.
