So i sat up a mountain at the roadside for 3 hours to achieve this.....
One of the mountains in the background is very famous for its shape. It looks like a man lying down with his knees bent up.
It's in Barga, Italy by the way :)
To view it larger go to:
Making-of Images of the Christophmalin.com TimeLapse Movie "The Island" about the wonderful nature and starry skies of La Palma, Canary Islands.
My first attempt at timelapse, lasts about 2 minutes.
The photos were taken with my D90 tethered to a computer using DCamCapture. And then converted to video using FFMpeg.
It was 1 photo every 8 (I think) seconds and this was the 22nd of December (so after the very light snow fall here in Oxon).
A few things to note for next time:
Take fewer photos further apart and display each one for longer:
Don't knock the tripod
Need to get the camera closer to the window to cut out reflection in the afternoon.
On this one the battery cut out after only 2908 picture - I only thought to check how many Nikon said it would last after, and that was 800 - so I didn't get the sun going down.
Please let me know what you think
Edit:
A second one is now up here.
If any one wants the options I have used on ffmpeg (or to make suggestions on other options) please le me know.
Oblique lighting, 40x, 10x eyepiece, 50mm through eyepiece lens used.
These amoebas, genus Vahlkampfia, have been sped up 6 times to more clearly show the movement pattern.
One photo from a timelapse I tried. I rushed setting up the shot and didn't get everything set up properly so I have some bad flickering in the timelapse that I haven't taken the time to work on.. but this shot turned out pretty cool.
Check out the shadow of the oats on the left from the lightning strike, and the owl sitting on the power pole in the distance.

My first attempt at a night sky timelapse video. Photos were taken above Flathead Lake, MT.
The video is rendered at 15 fps in the trial version of VideoMach.

The images were cropped and touched up a little in Lightroom 2.
The original file looks much better, flickr's encoder unfortunately compressed the video significantly.

1000 1 second exposures shot with a Canon Powershot S2 running CHDK and an intervalometer script.
Stitched into a movie using mencoder.

Update: Flickr has worse video display quality comparing to Youtube
Timelapse video of the first day of installation. Unfortunately, the project wasn't completed and I can't go back to complete the video for the second day of the installation of the actual panels. Still fun to watch. ~10:30am to 4pm
This is my first attempt to produce a little timelapse video. The shots were taken during a trip to Senj, Croatia. The result is not perfect and the sun/clouds did not really play along but finally I'm happy with it.
Taken with iPhone 5's new timelapse feature. A couple of paddle surfers and a "sunset cruise" drifting around in the ocean as the clouds roll by and the sun sets over the ocean.
All night long time-lapse ptotography showing the diurnal motion of the stars.
Each of the 850 frames has been exposed 30 seconds at ISO400, f/2.6. All the images have been assembled into a 24 fps movie. One second of the movie corresponds to 15 minutes of real time - this is a thousand time faster than reality.
This is my very first nearly successful tentative. I am still improving the technique.
Experimenting with timelapse using my star tracker. Came out ok aside from some flicker caused by blown out clouds due to not lowering my camera exposure to compensate. The area where this was taken was burned down in the Summer of 2020 and is slowly recovering.

I've been playing with a GoPro Hero 6. This is a timelapse from the hotel window on a grey day in Chicago. Just stuck it to the window with a suction cup and went for dinner.
I'm not planning to put video other than Timelapse on Flickr.
This is a star trail maded with time-lapse and post production in photoshop.

Year in a timelapse

trying intervallometer I made this short timelapse video from my balcony where you can see orion, jupiter, sirius, procyon, aldebarand and pleiades. Light pollution and flickr upload process made a bit hard to see all sky objects
Here the example pics where I named all the objects flic.kr/p/brxDVi
