Simple timelapse math: a frame a second for one hour results in 1 minute of video. Then adjust the seconds between frames to get the final length of video you want.
15 seconds per frame is a little fast. (900x)
Next time, let the night develop a little more. Note, astronomical twilight goes to around 1 hour after sunset.

So I tried to take a timelapse of a flower opening on my chilli plant as dawn broke...unfortunately the batteries ran out at 3am and I therefore have a big gap over sunrise! However, the timelapse still shows something really cool - how much the plant moves over just a short period of time.
24 frames per second, 1 frame per minute real time.

Didn't realize how dirty the filter attached to the lens was.
Still, for a quick and dirty run, learned a lot on how to do this better.
Inspired by some of the flashlight painting I have been seeing (and trying) I busted out my laser for a little timelapse fun.

Quick timelapse of some art hanging in Pomona, CA. Taken over 25 minutes or so. To be used as B-Roll in interview footage.
BTW, Flickr's video quality for non-pro users leaves a lot to be desired ....
Trying out a new kind of timelapse using a ContourHD camera during a horrible trip across the Bay Bridge on Saturday night - 55mins compressed into 1.

Today's Posting - #TP102 - Time to Ponder. Find a location, on arrival take one image, review your surrounding for 5 - 10 minutes and take another.
The purpose of this assignment is to get you thinking how you could improve your use of the available surroundings or objects and light.
The end result should be two images the one that you dashed into and took straight away, the second theorically more composed, improved use of light and objects that are available.
Think about how the light bounces or is absorbed, how you could use shadows, creases and reflections, how the shot would look if taken at a different angle (high, low or eye level).
Is there an object or detail that you missed and would improve the shot, does the frame work, does it include items or objects that make the intented image messy or distract the viewer.
I went for a walk with hubby, who has not long had back surgery, but unfortunately he found it too hot and tiring so I was unable to stand a wait or even ponder. So got him home and walked around wondering what I was going to do. Then Isat on the stoep and watched the clouds changing and decided that would be my shot. Not very exciting but some days it works for you and others not so much.
The second shot was 5 minutes later but I used the dial selection for dawn/dusk on the camera and it probably gives a truer colour to the view!
Another timelapse from Kitt Peak. The Spacewatch telescopes are to the left and Bok and Mayall 4-meter telescope in the distance.
