I meant to post this on Easter, but somehow, Easter came and went already. Where does the time go? This is on a hill near a country church here in Southern Illinois.

My local Victoria grocery store carries shark fin soup. That's terrible! The staff didn't even seem to have a clue. Every year irresponsible fishers strip the ocean of sharks whose fins they cut off and then dump the living shark into the ocean where it will sink and die because sharks need to swim continuously to breathe.
I love you so much. Thank you for making me so happy. and thank you for helping me..without you I would of died. Thank you
Instead of a sensible real clock they have to run a computer and projector (with really expensive short-lived bulbs) to tell us the time. WTF?
Gas prices got ya! Weeelll....just get together with some friends and start pumpin'....we're all in a new "cycle" now, eh gang!
Junk like this is typically on display for 2-5 days (and we wouldn't want it out for 3 weeks anyway). It's completely useless the rest of the year. Wasted resources went into making it. Money was wasted which could have been put into better uses but those people will probably say they don't have money to spare for taxes to support decent education and health care. Clutter like this leads people to build excess storage facilities on good farmland or to just add more junk to the landfill because they don't want it hanging around until next year.
Heading into the Christmas holiday season we see even worse abuses. A neighbour down the street has 13 blowup displays. I'm not opposed to some tasteful lights in moderation but we are seeing a growing number of homes with a morass of lights that look tacky and waste more power even though they use so-called low-energy LEDs. Thousands of LEDs are not more efficient than a few dozen incandescent Christmas lights.
Really helpful guide. View larger to read the details. Sometimes driving can be a better choice than taking the train (if you have several passengers). I presume that is when you look only at direct emissions. I would still lean toward the train in many cases because we need to show support for the train system so it will expand and get more cars off the road. The train is also more relaxing.

On the 20th anniversary of the Exxon Valdez disaster people conscience called for a formal ban on tanker traffic through BC's Inside Passage. Not only is Enbridge keen to put ocean health at risk but they also put profit ahead of human health. Their title sponsorship of a cancer charity ride is an appalling piece of whitewashing.

People driving by on Edwin Dr. were looking at me a bit funny. I was standing outside my car, Muse blasting at insane volumes, and I was singing.
The juice chiller was horribly noisy and inefficient. It would fire up every few minutes 24/7.
Do people ever stop to consider the mass of garbage they create from something as simple as drinking fluids? I saw teammates grab a styrofoam cup here, appear with takeout paper cup later, a paper cup cold drink in the afternoon, and a bottle of water or two throughout the day. That's 4-5 pieces of garbage just from drinking.
He can't be bothered to talk to his constituents. Time to throw him out and get a real leader in. Vote for Elizabeth May (Green Party) in the upcoming election.
This isn't a trail-a-bike bike but an extended wheelbase that then provides more room behind the seaat for kids and cargo.

I have not had short hair since I was six but I felt the need to make a big visual statement. I cut off my hair today as a symbol of grief and mourning for the loss of humanity among the Canadian government and negotiators in Copenhagen.
Voters taking action on climate change. If we don't throw out the foot-dragging Conservative dictatorship of Canada then we will also be culpable for the crimes against humanity perpetuated by governments who love money and power more than humanity. History will not look kindly on those who are so blinded by short term economic troubles that they push the failsafe button on global suicide.

Bzzuh? How lazy do you have to be to buy this crap? If you have to wash the baking pan anyway then why not wash a mixing bowl instead of throwing away a big hunk of plastic every time you make a half dozen muffins. And then there's the enormous waste of energy to heat your oven to bake such a small batch. You might as well make a couple dozen for virtually the same energy cost but that would fill up your trash can pretty fast if you were throwing away a few shakers at once.
Dumb, Dumb, DUMB!
