As we were leaving the house to go out for dinner last night, I snapped this photo. I had my 50mm lens on the camera body, and wanted to see how the photo would frame up. Not too badly...

Canal near Hospital de Orbigo, 2009-there had just been a time change and the sun was barely risen when we got kicked out of the albergue. Really cold outside.

The best part of the time change is getting to see the sun come up -- so beautiful!

It would be way better than turning it forward! Not a fan of the time change, for sure. It takes me about a week to get back on schedule.

My son Eric, here with his art colleague Chris Larson (right), asked me to remind you all to set back your clocks by one hour after Saturday Night Live is over.

I guess I hit the button as I was lowing the camera. This looks interesting to me.

I was having a hard time figuring out what picture to take for today. Before I realized it there was 10 minutes to go before it was tomorrow. Since I couldn't let myself go a day without a picture I came up with this idea.

I set the shutter for a 5 second exposure and timed it to take about half the picture at 11:59 and the rest at 12:00. I think it turned out perfect. I really like it.

You can see the numbers changing, the day changing, and the PM to AM

Went out shooting to celebrate the first day of sun past 5:00 PM. Yay for the time change!

I love the color and the DOF on the plants in the foreground.

Time to Spring Forward this weekend. Don't forget to check your smoke alarms! bit.ly/turnandtest

It doesn't alarm anymore, but it still keeps time.
