Film is a funny thing. Thanks to the passage of time, a photo that wasn't printed in the early 90's can lie forgotten in a sock drawer, just another dusty last frame on a roll. But this is my dad. He died last year and this was taken when he and my mother visited me in London. It's the kind of image you'll never get with digital and because of that the future will be all the poorer. RIP Dad x
I was visiting this peaceful stunning ancient water town on the outskirts of Shanghai. Hard to believe that this sleepy water village was the backdrop of the opening scene of Mission Impossible 3.
The guestbook was finally completed the evening before Jo & Anita left. Thanks guys it's been a real pleasure having you around.

In the Seal Sancturary in Hel, Poland.
Every seal has its own sign (you can see a part of the yellow square sign) and it swims directly to it. When the signs are rearranged, the seals change their positions to take place in front of their signs. There are some permanent inhabitants in the sanctuary, some other stay there for a short period of time - they are healed and cared of and let free into the Baltic Sea again. The seals that stay there are reproducing in the sanctuary - actually there is one pregnant seal there at the moment :)
The feeding time is open for public - where the personnel explains some facts about seals in general and seals in Baltic Sea in particular. There are some interesting information about the animals in the building - the Seal Sanctuary is trying to rise awareness about the seal situation on the Polish Baltic shore.
It isn't a ZOO, the animals aren't trained. It isn't a commercial thing, either - the entry money helps this institution to exist and to teach about the seals.
It is really worth a visit :)

Having travelled the length of Edleston Road, this convoy of three emerged onto Nantwich Road (thanks to the same 'green' from the traffic light} and duly presented themselves, at their identically-scheduled time, at the next stop/shelter along the way.
Providing a real choice in terms of operator were:
First Potteries Scania - 65732 - YN05 HCY - on the 'main line' service 20 bound for Hanley;
D&G Bus Solo - 41 - YJ55 BHV - also heading to Hanley on their 85 via Newcastle
while Arriva North West's Plaxton Centro-bodied VDL SB120 waits to see if there's anyone left wanting a trip on route 37 to Sandbach and Northwich.
