Like a huge sundial, the shadow from a railroad crossing gate sweeps across the scene.
This is the second of the two photos I took of this concrete plant, and is slightly cropped on the sides as the aspect ratio doesn't match the cropping factor.

Rainer Maria Rilke
Vor lauter Lauschen und Staunen sei still,
du mein tieftiefes Leben;
dass du weisst, was der Wind dir will,
eh noch die Birken beben.
Und wenn dir einmal das Schweigen sprach,
lass deine Sinne besiegen.
Jedem Hauche gib dich, gib nach,
er wird dich lieben und wiegen.
Und dann meine Seele sei weit, sei weit,
dass dir das Leben gelinge,
breite dich wie ein Federkleid
über die sinnenden Dinge.

a number of people have asked me for a picture of the stencil i cut after i sprayed it, so i decided i should one up the request, so here's a timelapse of the whole process.
...soon to be hitting the streets.
This image was probably one of the hardest images I have ever tried to take. I thought it would be fairly straight forward; Pick a dandelion head blow it gently and shoot. Wrong. I had a handicap. I thought I would get my six year old daughter to hold the dandelion and blow it for me, this seemed a good idea until I realised A. she can not hold/stand/be still fora split second , let alone a second or so to allow me to focus, shoot etc. B. She has lost her two top front teeth. Her ability to carry out the simple task of 'blowing' was like watching Bambi take his first steps. It would have been funny if I hadn't set my mind an getting an image!!! After the 8th head, I realised it was best to move out of the garden as otherwise I will be weeding endlessly in 2012, 2013............Bless her, we got there in the end.
I wanted to produce a timeless feel to this image so I tweeked it a little in PS. Time and Dandelions seem to go hand-in-hand.

30 Days of Gratitude- Day 3
Today I am grateful for being able to have some time out and just sit quietly by myself and unwind. Life's just way to busy lately.
This is a photo I did at the beginning of the year. I didnt have any bird photos that suited the image at the time so I used Shadowhouse creations bird brush set . I sat down tonight to replace the brushed birds in the photos with my own bird photos only to discover that I lost the original file when my computer malfunctioned and only have a flattened jpeg file, so I can't replace the birds after all. Bummer. Serves me right for not backing up regularly
This is the time of year we wonder what we have done and what are we going to do. What time do we have left? what have we done with the time we had? Where has the time gone? At this point, I am done with thinking about time. I am happy in the place I am with it's good and not so good parts and do not want to think about time anymore.
This might be the best quote for this image;
Clocks slay time... time is dead as long as it is being clicked off by little wheels; only when the clock stops does time come to life.
William Faulkner
Every time the native guide would toss sand on the shelf, someone would walk through the shot.
When I say there are hundreds of tourist walking through this comp that day im not joking.
This shot was the only one that did not have a person running through saying "excuse me...sorry."
I was running out of time to get the shot.

Their time together read like a history text.
All that creative gravity
that comes with war-
disagreements-
and red tape.
Book-ended
with
the quiet peace
that comes when you finally stop reading.

Have you ever been interrailing? Or ever considered doing so? I would recommend doing so. It's a great way to travel as it's environmentally friendly compared to traveling by flights. You also get a closer look on the individual countries geography and culture. In addition you'll surely meet other interrailers who either have been or are going to the same destination(s) as yourselves. Yes, it's quite consuming to travel by train, but it's totally worth it, considering what I've already written above. Starting with this photo, I'll share with you the moments I captured while interailing trough seven different countries, summer 2015. I hope you'll like it.
Here is the 14th picture of my 52 project.
Theme of the week was "Time".
Come here next Sunday for the picture number 15. Topic will be "Landscape".
Walk-by shooting with Ricoh GR. Melbourne skyline reflected in the glass divide.
The GR is one of the few small cameras that really encourages pre-focussing / working within a depth-of-field zone. Which is very handy when you have glass between yourself and the subjects and want to be able to take a picture in an 'instant'.
Now that all the Designer 12" Sets have finally been released, the next Limited Edition doll to come out is the one and only Crown Princess Elena Of Avalor! Are you excited to get her? 😍 (Yes, yes you are)
Sash, nap time. Sweet dreams my beloved friend. She is the most gentle dog on Earth. (She was dreaming, running in her sleep, trying to bark. I suspect she showed that squirrel who was boss).
Competition entry for any interpretation of the subject 'Time'.
I gained permission - (thanks - whoever you are ?) - from the passenger when he awoke at his station stop. I couldn't give an accurate location on the map as I myself had only just woken up and didn't know where I was !!!

Ghent Light Festival 2018 - The city center lights up with surprising and ingenious installations an performances based on light. Quiet a performance! The performance at display is “Time Paradox”. The 3d projection mapping artwork is a time travelling journey through the city of Ghent. Vibrant Ghent is traditional but modern, historical and futuristic at the same time. Through the facades of the St Pietersplein the audience is taken on a 3 dimensional journey where architecture, music and storytelling gets together and explores the paradox of travelling in time – Ghent, Belgium
Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time

The We're Here group members are thinking about Time today because on June 30, 1972, the first leap second was added to the UTC time system.
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is used as the official world reference for time. Coordinated Universal Time replaced the use of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in 1972 presumably on June 30th.
