The man of my dreams has almost faded now. The one I have created in my mind. The sort of man each woman dreams of, in the deepest and most secret reaches of her heart. I can almost see him now before me. What would I say to him if he were really here? "Forgive me. I have never known this feeling. I have lived without it all my life. Is it any wonder, then, I failed to recognise you? You, who brought it to me for the first time. Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you". Such would I say to him if he were really here.

While going over old photos, I ran into this one taken about four years ago. I had just gotten an ND110 filter which allows me to do long, very long exposures during the day. This is a 10-second exposure which didn't record much of moving people and objects.
The reason I got into photography was, besides its artistic value, to save trivial scenes which would not seem important at the moment. I had the thought that I could look at them later to "feel" the same I was feeling then. Many shots have hit me way harder than I expected when I reopen them after a long time.
We used to live very close to this park. My son was just one year old and was barely learning to walk. We would come here almost daily. I was so afraid that he would fall or hurt himself as any new father would do. I was so happy to spend time with him.
We still live in the same city, but we have moved somewhere else. Now, I have two boys, not just one. I am less afraid of them hurting themselves, but I'm just as happy to have them. We haven't been to this park for a very long time, even though it's a short drive away. I haven't done many long exposures lately, but I still do love photography. When looking at this photo, I can somehow feel a lot of what I felt then, only more intensely.
See these clouds passing by? That's nothing compared to how fast time escapes.

Waiting for a city bus in Belgrade means time is not measured like elsewhere in the world. 5 minutes on a timetable in reality can very often be 10-50 minutes or some other random number between ... but be sure - it will never be 5.
The portal opened and out popped this bloke,he kindly posed for a few shots then disappeared back into the portal on his way through the very fabric of space and time.......
This shot almost didn't happen. After the last shot I uploaded, I walked down to the Esplanade area to shoot directly toward the sunset in Cambridge. I had planned to quit after that, but when I looked back I saw the lights on the John Hancock were visible, so I hustled back to the bridge to shoot this scene.
This is NOT HDR or any other multiple exposure image. I also did not use any filters. This is nearly straight out of camera (I did adjust the white balance slightly). There is a window of time that is very fleeting in the evening when everything balances out perfectly. In this shot both the lights of the buildings and the warm dusk light are visible.

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.

Inspired by the Flemish school of painting, I did a still life reflecting time and its passing. The scene is light by only one candle casting some beautiful shadows on the scene, and just highlighting the eye socket in the skull. The drapery of the fabric I think adds to the feeling of a Flemish painting. This image is available athttp://dick-wood.artistwebsites.com/featured/time-passages-dick-wood.html
