I have been using spare time the last two days to search the web as we plan a holiday in Britain this October. We knew we wanted to go back to Dun Ringhyll in Sedbergh and was lucky enough to found it vacant, but the first days took some time to plan and to find a place to stay. We ended up with a cottage in Blair Atholl in Perthshire, Scotland www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/blairatholl/blairatholl/in...
Inspired by this I go back to last September and a short trip my wife and I had to Scotland to celebrate my 40 years and our 20 years wedding anniversary. We stayed in Callander, and one of the things we remember the most from the trip was a short hill walk to the Callander Crags. This was an advice we got from Eileen www.flickr.com/photos/23088560@N00 and it was a splendid walk before dinner. The views of the landscape were many places very pretty, and when we also saw a rainbow was it a double joy: the beauty of it and the fact that the rain was there and not over us.

Last week at Bristol zoo, I was lucky enough to catch the pelicans at feeding time. With a bit of practice it was possible to capture the birds catching the fish as they were thrown by the zoo keeper.

Winchester Mill
The Winchester City Mill is a restored water mill situated on the River Itchen in the centre of the ancient English city of Winchester. The mill is owned by the National Trust and is a Grade II* listed building.
The mill was recorded, milling corn, in the Domesday Book of 1086. However there are earlier references going back to 932 in the cathedral records. In 989 Queen Elfrida had passed the mill to the nuns of Wherwell Abbey. Dendochronolgical measurements date some of the timbers to the 11th Century.
It was originally known as Eastgate Mill until 1554 when it was given to the city by Queen Mary in recompense for the expense caused by her marriage to Philip I of Spain. The mill was last rebuilt in 1744 by James Cook, a tanner. In 1820 the Corporation sold the mill to John Benham whose family continued to operate the mill and it remained in use until the early 1900s. The mill was used as a laundry during World War I. In 1928 it was offered for sale. In order to prevent its demolition, a group of benefactors bought the mill and presented it to the National Trust. In 1931 the mill was leased to the Youth Hostels Association for use as a hostel, a usage that continued until 2005.

To look at the stream,
the stream of time and water,
to think of time as that other stream,
to realize that we fleet like that stream.

On this day, we enjoyed a long time to Snipers' night.
This is a point of Gyoko-Dori spreading out to Tokyo Station, a Wadakura-mon Gate bridge.
There was the traffic lane which was not used midmost when I thought that it was a very wide bridge. It seemed to be a traffic lane for exclusive use of His Majesty the Emperor and seemed to be connected before to Tokyo Station.
He might use it for the commuting by the train.

Thought it was about time I posted some of the photos from Davinas last visit.
This was in her room I think before going out.
Should have taken my ring light with me as the lighting in the room was rubbish. Oh well not to worry it was more about catching up than it was taking photos
