Blended a number of photographs together to get the man and young girl, walking through time, on their way collect items from the rock pools near the lighthouse. I love the way this image has come together and it is quite a touching image really.

A fair amount of time has gone by since I took this image. I went back here middle of last week, bumped into Sunset Snapper - good to see you again Adrian. I took a few images but nothing to shout out about, didn't help that I'd forgotten to bring my 85mm wide angle adaptor for my filter holder and therefore couldn't use them.
This image was from November 2013
Blue hour had set in over Medford, and the last train out of Weed just arrived into town.
Earlier in the day, the crew out of Weed got on duty to grab their train for the final time. Running light power to Gazelle, the few prior days saw this crew gathering up the remaining cars on the line, dropping some in the siding at Gazelle and others at Hornbrook. After moving out of Gazelle, this train would be followed by several railfans to Hornbrook, where the crew would add on whatever remaining cars while a Medford crew was coming with more power. Once out of Hornbrook, the train moved slowly over Bailey Hill and up to the summit, and after several hours finally made it into Medford.
By the time the crew had gotten to the yard, a switching crew was prepared to start splitting their train apart, as this monstrous last run did not have enough room to fit in any yard track. Once cleared of the crossing, the GP38 on the right would cross over and hook up to the rear. However, my friends and I were starving and decided it was time to go, ending the day with some sandwiches for dinner.
When you see someone, and you really see them, you see the kid that used to be them. You see the part of them that’s vulnerable.

This is not a Halloween photo, despite of the bovine skull adorning the front of the hut.
It's not an Autumn capture, despite of the reddish color of some trees.
This photo was taken in the middle of the Summer in a rural road, and always intrigues me.
The hut looks completely abandoned, but year after year the decadence remains the same, at least apparently...
It seems that nothing changes in this little area of the world, as if it is frosted in time in the middle of the heat of the Summer.

An image that I normally associate with the end of summer. I hope that is not the case as I'm off on my summer holiday tomorrow. I’m not sure if I will have internet access, so this might be my last upload for a couple of weeks.

One of a number of the wild coyotes that frequent this area. They're very tolerant of their human friends like me who just let them be and make their living on the rodent population. (you can see some squirrel mounds in the background.) This one was so relaxed while my friend and I watched, it just settled down for a nap here. I smile at the "eye contact" description when an animal looks in your general direction, but this time I'm pretty sure it really is **eye contact**.
You really want to give this handsome animal a couple of clicks to max res!
And if you wanted an update on the sad plight of the mangy animal with the raccoon, it met its fate out on the nearby highway a week or so ago.
