Blue & white color scheme, plasticky-looking letters, that "bridal" floating up there like an afterthought, the windows, "Rosenthall's" spelled out in the tile ... these are a few of my favorite things.

Tilework on the top of the facade of a school building, constructed 1902 and designed by the municipal Dienst Publieke Werken [Department of Public Works]. Originally probably a municipal school, today it is a Dalton School.

A hint at the new design CDOT is implementing through the Milwaukee-Dearborn Subway (currently the Blue Line subway). The design differs in color and tile pattern from the design being gradually implemented in the State Street Subway (Red Line), which uses warmer colors.
