Thyme flowers in the herb garden.

This thyme is on my window sill right now. Every day when it becomes backlit, I just can't take my eyes off of it. KK charmed texture, one of my all time favorites

As low-growing as it is hairy, Woolly Thyme loves sunshine and covers bare ground or stones with ease, not needing much soil...

The herbs are starting to grow in my garden!

Thyme is a most used herb in our kitchen, which mainly consist of italian dishes, maybe because we miss Italy so much here up north.

So this was my 18th image of my life here in Coronaland, all taken with the precious Sony FE 1.4/24 GM lens - it's a beauty ...

Thyme (Thymus mongolicus) is a culinary and medicinal herb of the genus Thymus.

Ancient Egyptians used thyme for embalming. The ancient Greeks used it in their baths and burnt it as incense in their temples, believing it was a source of courage. The spread of thyme throughout Europe was thought to be due to the Romans, as they used it to purify their rooms and to "give an aromatic flavour to cheese and liqueurs". In the European Middle Ages, the herb was placed beneath pillows to aid sleep and ward off nightmares. In this period, women would also often give knights and warriors gifts that included thyme leaves, as it was believed to bring courage to the bearer. Thyme was also used as incense and placed on coffins during funerals, as it was supposed to assure passage into the next life.

Best viewed large.

My intent was to hike several miles up the hill to the top of Cowiche Mtn but the birds and wildflowers distracted me from hiking. I spent about an hour near one large tree where there were many ruby-crowned kinglets and warbles. After taking more than enough bird photos, including a fly by red-tailed hawk I walked a short distance and found more than a dozen species of wildflowers from a single vantage point.

For those wanting to see photographs of most of the wildflowers at Snow Mtn Ranch many parts of Yakima County and elsewhere, all identified, see Bruce Perrault website: www.perr.com/wp-gallery/photo-galleries/

O the summer time is comin'

And the trees are sweetly bloomin'

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the bloomin heather................

This piece just made me think of this song.

You may want a beach hut alongside your parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.

Scarborough is a fascinating seaside resort in the North East of England with a very colourful history.

And lots of beach huts.

Prompt: Tiny.

I realize I took a similar photo a few weeks ago, but the sprouts are so much bigger now! However, they are still absolutely tiny.

The flies really seem to love this thyme. That may have something to do with the reason we call it "Cat Crap Thyme." Yes, that is exactly what it smells like.

Not a lot of processing on this one at all. My first bug photo with my new D750!

in my garden

Flowers at last.

Our garden sits on a hill that faces southwest and has a lot of rocks and boulders. This creates a microclimate and as a result we have plants living their own season :) This thyme is already green, and it is only mid-March.
