Day 1 - Thyme.

I could have been more clever, should have been more clever with the first photograph of this new project but starting this challenge again was a spur of the moment decision and I didn't have a lot of time to be creative. So you get a semi-creative title and the thyme that sits on my outdoor table.

Planted in hanging basket 28 Nov 2007.

Had to cut it down completely after it dried up (my fault). Just when I wanted to throw it away I saw some green emerging from the dirt.

Hooray!

new lenses and filters arrived this morning, so i had to have a play. love the macro lens! this creeper is quickly spreading through my herb garden, but i think it's made a tactical mistake picking on the thyme, the Samuel L. Jackson of the herb world.

I have been told that Thyme can be a tricky herb, but our first attempt seemed to be very successful.

How much of your thyme flowers?

Some thyme (french thyme I believe) in my garden.

You never have to cut this "grass"! And yes, you can walk on it.

My friend Susi sent me this recipe (English translation) - I made it using raspberries from my garden, my homemade raspberry vinegar and thyme from my garden. It's a perfect summer dish. The tartness of the raspberries worked really well with the risotto, and even though it kind of looks like a dessert, it's completely savory. The only adjustment I made to the recipe was using chicken stock instead of veal stock (on Susi's advice). It was delicious!

It loved the stinky, brackish, water!! below a spring. Oh yuk....................

can't find this one in my flower books or my WEED book
